Not currently to this stage of the game with my lobsterboat, but im just curious as to what the easiest, cost-efficient way to do this is before I start caulking? Just letting her fill with rain water lol? Shes standard Atlantic White Cedar on White Oak

If you've not caulked at all and if you don't have finishing inside that can be bothered, spraying water around for a few days can work but chances are she'll be leaking too much. So spread burlap up on the planking between frames and keep that soaked. At that rate a garden sprinkler left on might do it.

I've found burlap hard to wet. Newspaper wets out well and wicks water up a long way. If the bilge gets tight enough to hold a little water paper will stay wet right to the waterline.

I grew up with lots of burlap bags from the horse feed so that's what I thought of. But newspapers are probably better. Good thought.

Should the burlap or paper be tacked into place between ribs and frames laying open wherever I can get it??

Hi, We use old towels stripped to frame bay width and sprayed with garden sprayer. This has worked on CIMBA and many Beetlecats.
