The listing looks like the seller knows what he is talking about.

You must be right about that. Even if the hull is shot, there's way more than 10 grand of good fittings, equipment, and stuff on the boat.

Weren't all the Malabars once John Alden's "own"? He'd build them over the winter, use it as a marketing tool following summer, then sell it at the end of the season and build the next one.
