    Default Canadian Redneck Vehicle

I took this last week on the way to where we do our grocery shopping. Excellant use of hockey sticks.

It doesn't show up well in the picture, but there are a bunch of hockey stick blades fastened to the trunk as fins also.

    Makes me want to sing,

    O Canada!
    Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.

if they're all righty or lefty sticks it could add some drama going fast down a straight...never mind, they can't go that fast...

Yeah, let's bear in mind that the vehicle in question appears to be a Nissan econobox...

What are you doing about it?

No matter what it is, it would look better with some Habs flags tied to the blades, this time of year. That's a whine, but we're allowed. All my neighbours are Canuck fans; the fear around here is palpable. / Jim

At least they made the playoffs. Not that I can complain; you don't go from zero to hero in a season, and our boys need to learn how to bottle hometown support and take it on the road with them.

Habs in the 70's used to get out of town when at home during playoffs, stayed out in the hills. Record wasn't bad during those years.

I'll want to cheer for the Canucks; hoping they'll show up. / Jim

Is that flag panel in front for "sleding" up over a snow drift?

Twould appear thos headlights are directed up out of crevass, or something, for after the car falls into one.

Although I suspect this particular car is just decorated for Canada Day or the playoffs (probably the latter), we do have the whole "cardboard in front of the radiator" thing that you guys in the nigh-tropical climes of Illinois probably don't...

I think the flag on the front is on a pretty hefty hunk of metal which lead me to believe that it was a bash plate for off road playing.

Rush and Max Webster are also allowed, but Nickelback is a flogging offense.

The front spoiler/Canadian flag is positioned to gain the maximum amount of traction on icy roads..... Who needs steering if you can't go anywhere? ..... What? What do you mean "Front wheel drive"? What's that?

Maybe they need some lesson's in how not to destroy a city after they lose, or win, for that matter , the cup!

I'd say we've got a long way to go to equal Montreal at rioting. You almost need two hands to count their hockey riots, including one after they WON the cup!

I wasn't saying it was just a Vancouver issue. Pretty much country wide isn't it, to some extent.

I suspect such a riot is unlikely in Winnipeg, but events could always prove me wrong. My favourite moment from the Vancouver riot, if one can have such a thing:

Scott Jones comforts his girlfriend, who was knocked down and too scared to get up again. A moment of humanity in a sea of mindless destruction.

What are you doing about it?

I figured that was photo shopped , LOL. Talk about being clueless, or maybe lost in the moment, depending on your mind set.

No, it's actually a pretty sweet story. They got caught up in the riot, though there's no evidence that they did anything wrong themselves, and were apparently roughed up by police. She fell down and was too scared to get up or move away, and the picture captured him comforting her. They were a bit surprised by the hoopla that ended up surrounding the photo, which won a few "Photo of the Year" awards. Despite what it looks like, they are NOT making out.

I think I added to and /or changed the first part of the sentence , but forgot to tune up the end to go with the change I made. I'll go back and tune that baby up some, no tellin if it'll read any better , more than likely it won't be correct.
