I do not think that Phillip's thread got whacked specifically because of him, but rather because some of the other poster's comments that implied violence. Donn's remarks about splatter, for example, and I forget what Tallboy said, but he couched it in terms of "ballistics," which it was not, of course, if you had any inclination to read between the lines.

Just my opinion, of course, but I think that Scot is pretty consistent about not allowing any kind of threat, even if vaguely implied.

Can't say about Salty's thread, I do not always read him either.

I have often thought of using Norman's quote of some years back ("Hey, LJ! DON'T HELP, OK???") but applied to Saltyboat-insufferable-er. I don't like guns, I vote Democrat, I take pot-shots at some of the more ludicrous RWWN posters, but I post in other areas and with boat content occasionally. Not so the "True Believers".

As to the referenced thread, a typical fanatic screed (it matters not if the subject is a RW or LW hotspot touchstone, the writing is usually just as bad in either case) so you missed naught of consequence.
