I keep thinking this should say "U of W Research". But no matter how much I zoom in it still says, "W of W Research". I don't know what W of W is, anyone?

perhaps it's "Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife".
Chasina seems to carry a trawl net (bottom or mid-water) on her drum, and normally there would be doors (otter boards) hanging from the A-frames alongside the drum.

In the first few days after getting BETTY-B, I was having charging issues. I lost power out in the middle between the locks(where Ron is) and downtown. The CG was busy and asked if anyone was around to give me a tow. Well, the Victoria Clipper was just out of drydock doing sea trials! The captain manuvered the stern around just like a little yacht and had his guys throw me a line. Holy crap! That was, without a doubt, the fastest BETTY-B has ever gone! He must have been laughing his ass off. What a sight it must have been. Anyways, he dropped me off right in front of Shilshole and the SPD towed me to the gas dock. No problems!
Also, I used to tie off to Ursa Major at Gasworks Marina when they would throw their fantastic dock parties. Nice guys and what a sweet boat.
There must be some event coming up inside the lakes. There has been a steady stream of 30' - 50' cabin cruisers heading into the locks this morning, some but not all, with Canadian flags. Almost all of them are white plastic, this is the only one worth snapping.

A Chris and a Huckins....cool.
Lot of traffic today, keeping me hopping. Too bad I can't make a living with these pix. It's a lot more fun than what I'm supposed to be doing.
A seiner, can't quite make out the name, "Alsek"?

Just noticed in the news that the Kentucky Derby is this weekend. That means it is also Seattle's Opening Day of Boating Season, which probably explains the increased traffic I'm seeing today. I don't really pay attention to Opening Day, because like a lot of Seattle boaters, we don't acknowledge a closing day. But Opening Day always seems to be the same day as the Kentucky Derby.
So there might be some interesting photo ops in the next couple of days. For you out-of-towners please note; boats traveling from left to right are getting out of Dodge before the madness starts. Those traveling right to left are the madness.![]()

Pretty self-explanatory.
(BTW, she later came back the other way, so she is not escaping the madness.)

Post #184, the first pic..... Fetch me a bib, I'm drooling!
Knowledge: Tomatoes are fruit.
Wisdom: Tomatoes do not belong in fruit salad.
Okay SchoonerRat, as you can see I almost missed this beauty. Normally I won't post one if the building cuts off part of the boat, but Red Jacket is such a beauty I made an exception.
