Neat video, but he obviously didn't read the book carefully.
It's been quite a few years since I read the book, so I could be wrong, but I'll comment anyway.
The rig is wrong, I am pretty sure it was a boomless sprit rig. He didn't fish with a fishing pole, he used a hand line, and definitely didn't use a float or bobber.
I am sure he never hauled the fish carcass up the mast.
I think keen observers could spot other flaws.
