    Default your thoughts on 3 dinghy designs?

    ok, so i have 3 sets of plans here and eventually ill build them all. im already working on 1. all are basically 3:1 designs, but my question is....... which is likely to have the best rowing manners?
    which is likely to have the best sailing manners?
    which is likely to run well with a 2hp outboard?

    dudley dix, dixie dinghy
    selway fisher, redshank
    hartley, huskey 7'3" (not really 3:1 as no sail plan, but im sure it could be done)

    i realize "manners" is subject to interpetation but generally speaking, if each could only have 1 means of propulsion how would you set em up?

    The Redshank is the only one I would even contemplate for myself. Those other hard chined boats will neither row nor sail nor tow as well as that more sophisticated and rounded hull shape. But I think you'd be even better off with a round-bilged pram design if you have to stick with a boat that short. SF's very similar Greenshank Pram is almost certainly a better and more useful boat in every way for such a tiny boat.
    Amphibious Macroplankton Oughtredia doublendus
    Mostly found frequenting the littoral and estuarine zones in the southern half of the Salish Sea, though sightings have been recorded both north and south of this area, and occasionally, but rarely, inland, in freshwater environments. This species lives on micro-brewed beer and dutch-oven biscuits,and displays brightly colored nylon and gore-tex plumage during the rainy season. Approach with caution!

    None of the above. Build the Townson dinghy;
