You're no damn good, Dryfoot!![]()
I see only reasons why she fits the contest. They should not have kicked her out.
......she's from an alternative Universe?
We don't know how lucky we are....
The contest is about looks, and she looks damn good to me.

Donald Trump is, by comparison, an ugly, creepy guy. The sprayed comb-over makes him look like a TV evangelist.

I think they should have let her stay.

Let her stay, fire the judges.
I have problems wit the title anyhow, Miss Universe? Universe? But she's gotten more publicity for being banned than sh would have for winning the show, so she's won anyhow.
I suppose it depends on what the rules are. If no cosmetic surgery to enhance looks is permitted, such as nose jobs, breast implants or whatever else, then the ruling seems appropriate. However, if those kinds of cosmetic surgeries are permitted, then it seems like an unfair ruling. But since I suffer from BRA*, I'll just say she should have been allowed to compete.
*BRA = Bilge Research Avoidance
Why do we still have beauty pageants?
Families needing food stamps is a failure of Capitalism: Those families not starving is a success of government
Though I agree that such a contest should accept trans gender contestants, the rules explicitly restrict this, and she lied about this on her application. It may have been smarter to challenge the legality of the restriction in the first place rather than to defy the restriction and to lie on the application.

She was always open about her sex-identification history and very publicly won a transgendered beauty contest. If there's a box on the Miss Universe application that asks if one is transgendered and if she checked "no", then she'd lied. But it really looks like the only sense in which she may be said to have lied is by entering the contest that has somewhere in some fine print something about 'naturally born' woman - which also invalidates the entries of women who were born by caesarian section and we don't see them checking for that.
It's all Trump's hooey. But in the long run this could be a better boost for a career than being tenth semi-finalist or whatever.

Unless it says "you were born with a pair of ovaries" I don't know how she'd have stated otherwise.

She never denied her sexual identification. I went to the web site and followed the leads. So far as I could find, Miss Universe Canada never actually asked the question they claim she lied about. The statement from Yahoo News quoted below is true so far as I can see:
The Miss Universe Canada website states that to enter, women must be a Canadian citizen and between the ages of 18 and 27. If basic requirements are met, they are asked to fill out a longer application form. The form does not mention any rules against sexual reassignment surgery. A representative for the Miss Universe Canada did not respond to request for comment.

Miss Universe Canada’s utter lack of candor weakens their side should there be some sort of discrimination suit. Looks to me like they simply never thought of this and got embarrassed when they found that she was already out, no secret.
Why did she enter..? Can transgenders compete in the Tour de France? In the Olympics..? In pro football, ice hockey, baseball? Track? Don't know about Marathons..Boxing?Are these next? And then I hear a story about a teenager who is mongoloid trying to save his position on the football team and not kicked off because of what he is.He didn't alter his sex/image but people want him off the team.Do we have to have a rule here that no mongoloid students should be on the team? Genetically, this woman hasn't changed. Are looks the determining factor here and not gender?
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
I would want to see how she throws a football before making further comment.
I think she's Trump's new girlfriend and he's trying to get her all the attention possible.

Seems pretty simple to me: if she is a Miss when the tournament starts, then she's a go. How she was born is immaterial.

It was what I was trying to remember when I typed the word mongoloid. Was on the tip of my tongue and wanted to write downs syndrome.momentary freeze.

How did a thread that began about a guy who lost his balls end up with photos of girls throwing balls?

Anyhow, these contests are archaic in the extreme and it's a wonder to me that they still go on. But to each his own and there are certainly enough young women who seem keen to enter them even if I regard them as demeaning ans, as someone else said, a meat market. I don't know the young ladies motives, but it seems to me she fulfills all of the criteria. Maybe they are afraid of a lawsuit from another contestant if she wins?
I may have missed a previous mention of the matter in this burning-issue thread, but in regard to--ahem--Miss Jenna Talackova's name:

"...But advocates and activists argue that she was in fact born female.
"What happens when a child is born is the doctor looks at the genitals and writes 'M' or 'F' on the birth certificate," Little told the Georgia Straight by phone. "But I think the brain is at least an important an organ as the genitals. And every study I've seen indicates that the masculine and feminine structures of the brain are formed before birth. So she was born with a feminine brain."
Herbert agreed.
"I would say she is born female," he said by phone. "It's taken a while for science and society to catch up to that fact…. If you are a female, even if you've got male bits that you were born with, you have that right to transition, to be who you really are. Nature works in funny ways. Sometimes our minds are mismatched with our bodies, and science has shown that pretty clearly."

Fair enough. But a hospital cannot determine psychological gender. The hospital determination is physical. And so are these contests. In this case all science and society have to do to catch up is to add the not stated but understood word 'anatomical' to hospital records, since that is the only determination that can be made at the time of birth."I would say she is born female," he said by phone.
