Default Mystery small cruising sharpie near Brisbane - Maid of Moreton

Saw a wonderful little cruising sharpie being towed today, maybe 16', while driving in the Loganlea-Waterford area south of Brisbane. I'd love to find out the designer. She was called Maid of Moreton, white topsides, varnished coamings, bronze portholes, vents, deck fittings. Anyone know of her? I should have tried to snap a pic through the windscreen with my phone, but that would have been unsafe, wouldn't it

Strange coincidence, but though I never heard anything back from anyone on this, I just came across the very boat on Youtube. It was actually a Sharpie 600, designed by Bjorn Thomasson . His website is here.

Here's a few pics. It's a pocket cruiser type, but quite a nice little sharpie. It's freeboard is a bit too high for my taste, but otherwise quite lovely.

and a video of a different boat from the build pic I think, here:

Looks good, sails well and a good internal layout.

Yes, a very nice little cruiser. But I'd swap the chart-table and galley side-for-side. That way you could heave-to if necessary on the starboard tack, remain the stand-on vessel, keep the galley on the downhill side while you brew up, and be yourself a little higher while you keep an eye open to weather. I've seen a couple of boats with the layout of this one and always wondered why.

    A little research turns out it's a 20 footer. Sharpie 600.
600 being centimeters. That explains the spaciousness.
    Still very nice though.

Sanderling was twenty feet on deck, and only seventeen on the waterline. But she had two full-length berths, trotter-boxes, a separate forepeak, galley, chart-table, and wet hanging locker, together with a large cockpit with lockers and a lazarette. Talk about spacious! You can see a few (old) photos of her here.

Wow, I love that design! Too bad it's just a tad over my 18' parameter.
    I hate fun.
