I have great respect for a man who one admitted to having lusted in his heart.

Having seen these photos, I must admit he is not alone. They are moving works of art.

Those are fine pictures of DRIFT, Mark. I was too busy out there to notice the colorful sails.

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble...

Thanks Thad, I'm pretty sure you were in waaaaaaay before us. That reminds me of a memory I have from the day before the race. I'd just dropped the hook and was down below straightening things out when I hear, very faintly, my name being called. A few seconds later I heard it again, much louder. I pop my head out of the companionway just in time to see Nellie bearing down on me with a bone in her teeth, the boom wung all the way out and you at the helm with a maniacal smile on your face. You looked to be doing about 8 knots through the anchorage and didn't slow down until you rounded up to drop the canvas. An awesome sight!!!!

We did start well before you. Some fun!!! That was the end of a great sail. We had done the race to Camden, a drifter with just enough puff at the end to make the finish. The next day the NELLIE's "principles" took off and left their kids with us "crew" to sail her to WB. The feeder race boats ran through the thoroughfares, we peel off for Cape Rosier, the NW came in strong and we had a terrific reach down the Reach with the kids at the helm some before rounding into the anchorage.
