Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
Diablesse sits in Camden Maine. I just sent this info to my friend who co-owns her. My best sail on her was up to the Bangor Folk Festival a few years ago.
Dave,
Your PM mailbox is full...I'm sending out the donation to the historical society tomorrow, my address is on a previous PM...thanks!
I'll look for your previous PM. Inbox has room now.

Hi Guys- any of you guys know of the where abouts of Diablesse or Three Brothers up your way? I am chasing down some F. Fenger info. Cheers/ JC
p.s.- The Diablesse in the Fenger book is the schooner Diablesse from 1912 and earlier. The Diablesse I am asking about is the later trisail Ketch of the same name which Fenger designed and had built for himself. I think she lived a long time up in/around Mahone Bay, NS.
assume that you know that Mystic has a collection of Fenger papers. As I recall Diablesse ended up going to the boatyard in the sky, nail sick.

HI Ben- Yes, thankyou.
I do know about the Mystic collection and will be making the trip soon to have a look. For Diablesse (#2) I think she came from long time owner in Mahone Bay over to Maine. Meanwhile I also think I heard that "Three Brothers" was some where on the Maine coast. I am interested in the mechanics of the "Manger" for the wish bone and also the so-called "Bear Trap" which was a traveler of some sort which I think allowed the Mizzen forestay bottom end to slide and latch to windward on deck or cabin top. Meanwhile, Stormsvala, which was 48 ft Fenger Ketch for Alexander Forbes, a beautiful thing, actually, sadly, I am told, ended her days somewhere around Saco in the hands of someone who locals there tell me he was in over his head. There again I was hoping to connect with someone who might have some photos or some of the old hardware kicking around the shop...
But the impetus here is "asking for a friend", who is thinking of an "Old Man Rig" for his gaff ketch. Many years ago I spent some time on Stormsvala down in Buzzards Bay and she was something of beauty, wishbone rig or not.
