Another Compass Project launch - Fiddlehead

I was at the launch today of the Compass Project's latest boat, their first traditionally built boat: a 10' Harry Bryan designed Fiddlehead. She was built by a group of middle school students under the direction of our fellow Forum member Jodi Carpenter. And a fine job they did, too:

The on the water pics are on my other camera, I'll post them tomorrow. The kids had a great time paddling and pedaling the boats, maybe the some videos, too.

Thanks Steven for posting these. She was a fun build, this was the first non-plywood boat I've ever built. I entered her into the I Built it Myself at the Wooden Boat Show. Hope to see everyone next weekend.

Jodi really wanted to have a picture taken with the designer to show to the kids that built the boat. Of course Harry was a pretty busy guy at the WBShow but he found time to pose with Jodi and the Fiddlehead:

I just saw the Compass project folks and heard that they are raffling off this Fiddlehead at the Maine Boatbuilder's Show this weekend. If you can't make it to the Show I bet you could buy a raffle ticket over the phone.
