But it's so easy I'm not even offering a hat. But she is a fabulous boat, with a fascinating history.

Please read and comment at My Wooden Boat of the Week,

    Thanks so much, Carl

That Hottub boat has got to be one of the more stupid ideas I've seen in a long time. Lets see, we take a small slab sided hull (likely flat bottomed), fill it with hundreds of gallons of free surface water, load it with some drunks and set off looking for the first large wake. Hope they have a huge liability policy.

Designed for Lake Union in Seattle, the whole of which is a no wake zone and lined with houseboats. Your criticism is misguided, M-George. It's not intended for anything more substantial than that.
    Amphibious Macroplankton Oughtredia doublendus
Mostly found frequenting the littoral and estuarine zones in the southern half of the Salish Sea, though sightings have been recorded both north and south of this area, and occasionally, but rarely, inland, in freshwater environments. This species lives on micro-brewed beer and dutch-oven biscuits, and displays brightly colored nylon and gore-tex plumage during the rainy season. Approach with caution!

I'd rather have a sauna-boat than a hot tub boat. But the recreational possibilties for either are almost endless. No bathing attire allowed!

    Dunno about the schooner, sorry.

It's hard to tell how big Zaca is, but the website mentions 118'.......As Bluenose is 143', Zaca is roughly an 80% version......A completely different boat, or a dog.......Lines inspired by Bluenose would be closer than "borrowed", which seems like PR name dropping. Whoever used the term knows little of naval architecture. I've never heard of Garland Rotch so that's interesting........

James, the people who market a boat like this could give a damn where they sell it to, as long as it puts some money in their pockets. You don't need to wait for a wake, just put six people in it and let my 260 lbs step aboard :-)

I do beleive this schooner Zaka was once owned by the swashbuckler Errol Flynn. I also think he was married to Patrice Wymore aboard her in Monaco 1950.

Ask me how I know this Carl.

How do you know, this, JD? Yes, she was owned by Errol Flynn. That's why a subsequent owner had her exorcised.

I suppose you missed the link to it. It's for rent, not for sale. These are the same waters where there are several scull boat teams going at it all the time.

I knew it was once owned by Errol Flynn because Port Townsend public library has (or at least had) a copy of this movie:
