    Fine work, Peter, with no sign of carelessness or inattention anywhere.

    When I was researching a novel, I found that the large shipmakers on the Clyde used to import tons of NZ kauri for use in patternmaking. Evidently it's beautiful to carve and will take intricate shapes without problems owing to unevenness in structure.
