Put us down for a tray or two of baked clams. Hand tonged the previous day off the Buoy 32 shell bed, Great South Bay.
It doesn't get more real than that, Emily.

And we missed you.

Been to Abbots a few times. Worked fine for me. Not like a home bake, but not a bad second. The thing that amuses me is the large stripers (one "p"), that lurk around the dock and goes nuts for oyster crackers.
We were talking about sailing Utopia up for the show, but being that we leave on our cruise the following weekend... that wont work. I'm gonna try to drive up though.

Are you really coming East, Tim? And to Maine, also?
Steven
Yes, I'll be at the show.
I'll be out there the week before for a design/marketing conference in Boston. Then, hopefully, my wife and I will head up to Maine for a few days. We'll wrap up our trip at the show. (I happen to have a good friend who lives in New Haven, so, it'll be great to see him and have a place to crash for a few days.)
Sounds great. If you are in Portland we can try to get you out on the water.
I hope Tim is prepared to be disappointed with the fare at the WoodenBoat Show.

I never learned from a man who agreed with me.
We're thinking about attending again.
Had visions of an Italian holiday, like the Griswolds "European Vacation", but recent events have us thinking another in-country holiday makes more sense right now. The girls have never been to Washington DC, so that would make a nice destination.
Depending on school schedules (etc) Debby and I will probably make it for a second time.

MacGregor? They're still in business? Who buys those things?

Thinking of heading north?
yes im starting to give it some thought.
do you think it would be worth my while to fly up and over for a look?
i like the idea of the tribute dinner with gannon and benjamin.
One of my ambitions too Bernadette, go for it.
You should heed you own advice, Jeff.

You're thinking about this all wrong. You need to go down to the duPont Shipyard and talk to the folks there. You see, they just got this new steam generator and steam box for the Morgan. I'd think it would do very well with lobsters... I'm sure a few extra lobsters would make it a shoe-in.![]()
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.
Maybe add a little seafood smell put into the new planks before putting them on . She is just a big fishing boat afterall.
If I do it will be without Lindy, but I'd love to. Biggest problem is my sister, who we have to visit this month. It would be better if we could put off the visit to her until JuneIf we can shift the dates for my sister, I can make it and probably so can Lindy. I'll be working on it this next couple of weeks.
A repeat would be such a gas....even though nothing happens the same way twice.....except lobsters and they never disappoint.

That's a great pic, Lew. For those from far away I can put a few names to faces.
From the left: Vince Brennnen and Phillip Allen. Behind the smiling Margo we have: Julia Manheimer, ?, Tracey Ledger, Russ Manheimer, Jim Ledger, Paul Pless, and behind them Allan Aylard, Emily, ? with camera, and me. To port of the mast: Gareth in front. Not sure about the three to his left. Behind them: Paul, Jamie, Mary, Rick and behind them Katerine and Joe(cosh).
So who'd I miss?
Steven
A couple more from that afternoon:
And I don't think anyone there can forget these two:
That's Phil, Joe and Paul just after liberating Jamie's rum. We ran out of ice, too, but traded a cup of rum for a huge bag. A good deal for everyone.
My favorite from that afternoon, though, is this one of my girls:

KITCHEN LITTLE has MOVED!!!
How DARE they??? Think of the masses of poor revelers looking forward to a "Portagee Omlette" to restore their senses, all arriving at the location so ingrained in their psyches, only to find that now they have to travel an additional ten minutes, brave uncharted new waters, repel various sea monsters and (much like the first trip to Abbotts in a fog) pray that their voyage will bring them to a safe dockage and refueling at the new haven.
Wow!
