This thing was listed on craigslist not long ago for $10,000.00 then a few weeks later for $6,000.00. . .
I never learned from a man who agreed with me.

This new ship here is fitted according to the reported increase of knowledge among mankind. Namely, she is cumbered end to end with bells and trumpets and clocks and wires. It has been told to me she can call voices out of the air or the waters to con the ship while her crew sleep. But sleep though lightly. It has not yet been told to me that the sea has ceased to be the sea.--Rudyard Kipling

I should say that my Rhodes 18 was glassed over in the early 90's. I've had it for about 6 years now and there hasn't been any bad effect on the cedar planking. When I got it parts of the transom looked like soggy shredded wheat though. I replaced that with mahogany. So far so good.
