Default Great restoration blog for a Falmouth Quay Punt

there was an English yachting author called Percy Woodcock - I have never read a word he has written but he owned a small gaffer which he took to the Baltic - sans engine

the boat is now being restored in Ireland and the blokes who are doing it are keeping a great blog

thank goodness there are blokes like Adrian and Ken who are prepared to blow life back into lovely old boats

    gawd blessum every one

Thanks Dylan, a good read, and well documented with pics, too.

    Hi everyone.
Thank you for the plug Dylan. Parts are piling up around the house and shed now so Teal should soon be on
    her way to recovery.
She was actually sailed to the Baltic by a guy named Andy Rankin in 2004.
Her original owner was Percy Woodcock, he wrote a lot of articles for yachting monthly in its earlier years and was an
associate of Maurice Griffiths. He has a number of books under the "for the novice" title eg. Coastal navigation for the novice.
I purchased his book "Looking astern" immediately after buying Teal as she has a chapter dedicated to her in it and
found it quite an enjoyable read. It gives a nice insight into the Falmouth quay punts at work and sailing life on the
coast of Cornwall in the first half of the last century and its an easy read.
Anyway thanks again. Best do some work.
    Brgds
    Adrian
