    okawbow,

Can't offer much guidance in rigging details and just want to say this is one of the neatest, best, uses for a fiberglass hull I have ever seen. She is a real eye catcher and I hope a fun boat to use and sail.

    Cheers!

I get more enjoyment from pulling all the strings, and walking the wooden deck of this boat than all the plastic, aluminum masted boats I've ever been on. There is always something to do on the boat, whether sailing or at the dock; so I am never bored.

People at the marina come over to look, and ask if they can just sit in the cockpit and dream a while. There's something about wooden spars and decks that makes people long for something they don't have in their plastic boats.

This schooner may be a step on the way toward a true wooden boat for me.

A "real" wb also takes many "real" hours of hull maintenance on top of the great rig and deck you've built. If you are meticulous about how it looks, count on about 100 hours per year on keeping the seams tight and paint up to snuff. Those hours will most likely come straight out of your sailing budget.

enjoy what you have for awhile

No new pictures today, but I had a great solo sail on the schooner, in 7-10kn winds, with the 4 lower sails on. Last week, I installed pin rails bolted to the deck around the base of the masts. They eliminate the sagging problems of the shroud mounted rails. I also rigged the gaff with a double to single block arraingement that allows me to get the sail shape perfect, easily.

I'm able to point a little better now, and I actually passed a couple sloops on the upwind run. Downwind, I kicked butt on all but the spinnaker boats. She sails better that I could have hoped for.

    A damn fine schooner.

Some more pics would be great.

    Sheer envy here.
