Oh man! Is she waterproof? Aren't you just dying the put her in some puddle just to see her floating. The thought has crossed my mind with Baby Dot several times this week
starting to look a little like a armored car
keelson bolted in
Now that looks pretty heavy duty. Should protect it from the rocks. I'm sure you're gonna countersink those screws...
Almost ready?

rub strips complete, ready to get the upside right once and for all
go man go! she looks ready to take on anything
Just a thought. I have found that the thwarts and a vertical central support are very important as flexing of the bottom and sides tend to be an issue when it starts to plane and when in a bit of chop. I can send some picts to show what I mean, if you want, by email, although the last email address I had didn't go though. The front of the skid rail beside the keel is a point of flex as well, and may need to be reinforced somehow.

took a break from boat building and gathered up the 3 oldest grandsons to do some of our civic duty by cleaning up the chena river thru fairbanks with our local paddling club. the lads had a great time, dude a traffic cone, dude a chainsaw, dude a mouse in a whiskey bottle, dude there is man sleeping, dude i went over my boots. their energy is inspiring.

and of course you know I was joking with you about getting the freighter in the water. I know her time is soon and she'll be awesome when that time comes!
