    Question

Alec R. Ellis and C.G. Beams (Great Britain) designed and built a 16' decked sailing and paddling canoe/kayak and published a two-volume how-to-build book about it in 1949 (4th edition printed in 1975) entitled HOW TO BUILD AND MANAGE A CANOE. The volumes include plans, full-size patterns and construction details of an interesting canvas-covered sailing and paddling (hard-chined) vessel that is neither a canoe or kayak, but seems to combine features of both. I wondered if anyone has built or owns one of these boats and could comment on it's performance.

I think a friend of mine has one, built about 40 years ago. I'll ask but I bet he can't remember much about the design he used.

Looking at the front of the book it would fit.
