Here's one that the builder says is from half model of a pilot cutter from the early 1800's. The model is said to have been passed down within the family, until Cap'n Jennings commissioned NA Geerd Hendel to draw it at 22 feet and add a centerboard. Now this boat is being made in (well, let's just say that it has lots of nice wood TRIM ). I thought it was a sweet looking little craft nonetheless. Maybe one of the forumintes could inquire whether the plans are available???

Ah sure, Shane, but I was at the Blunt homepage myself, now wasn't I? I suppose what I meant to say was what do our friends in Oz know about the history of this fine boat? I know that she's the "Eleanor" and was built in 1900 by C. Blunt hisself as a cruising cutter. Now just how many hundreds of 103 year-old boats do you Ozzies have sitting around down there at the bottom of the world? I'm thinking that "Eleanor" must be of historical significance, and that if we Yanks can tell ya not only what film star sailed Santana but how he sailed her....then I'm hoping that one of our Ozpals can fill us in on Eleanor a bit. More photos, say, or a bit of history? Sometimes my boat porn postings are not meant to be an end in themselves but rather a jumping off point for more research and discussion.

I really must convince SWMBO to let me order the Swiftsure plans as a birthday present. It'll be a few (hopefully not too many) years before I can start, but I need to commit. It came down to Swiftsure or the Buehler Pogo, and the square sail tipped the balance.

Hey Alan! Nice shot of Dyarchy! Thanks too to Dave Fleming. I think this is the first shot of a Dyarchy we've had on the forum, although this design has been discussed a great deal. And it happens to be Bob Cleek's dreamboat!
