Definitely want a cordless, though damned if I can decided. The Makita and the Dewalt but the Ozito gives me a driver as well and all are in budget.

For what its worth, I've been running 12V makita drill drivers for a decade or so commercially, so they get used all day. Periodically I have blown the gearbox on them up due to abuse and longevity ( 2 out of 10 or so)and I used to get the batteries re packed.
But because they are the poor relations now due to all the 14 and 18 and 24 and lithium ion etc etc they are cheap as chips , often packaged as 2 or as one with 2 batteries and a torch etc, its better just to buy a whole new unit and get the extra battery for free.
My first cordless was a Makita and it was 9v. It did a heap of work drilling and driving in screws. It was a sad day when the batteries died. I did buy a new battery for it but it just wasn't the same.

I saw some for sale recently but they might have been on run out. maybe you'll have to do the Lithium.

Barrowing soil around the block today. Being careful, it's warm and the snakes are out.
Don't run over a snake, you'd break his ribs !
I've been making aluminium flyscreens for the bedrooms, mozzy season is coming!

The Hilux problem is the waterpump..... cooling systems seem to be the Achilles Heel of motor vehicles. A friend and I once tabulated the breakdowns we had had in all our vehicles over the years, tractors, trucks and cars, Around 80% were cooling system related, welsh plugs, water pumps, hoses, thermostats, radiators. It makes me dream of VWs!

Well, anchored near Wide Bay Bar now, quite close to Johnno's place. Off to Moooloboolaboolaba tomorrow then Brizzy on Sat, all being well. Forecast looks good for the next couple of days.

Lucky you Rick. I spent the day on a Kanga, putting posts around a veggie patch for a fence to keep rabbits out, and then fixing storm damage on a long steep driveway. A day on the Kanga is quite hard on a body! Paid work though, so I guess its good.
A mate has a Dingo and says he finds it a lot easier on his body than the Bobcat he had before, rather than sitting down and relying on the seat to stop his back being pulverised he can use the spring in his legs . He's a lot happier with the Dingo.

What are your legs? Steel springs. From a movie...

The trouble I've had with Dingo's is their lack of stability and the way you sort of end up leaning on the controls with the palm of your hands - after a couple of days on a Dingo I found myself for the first time ever with carpal tunnel issues and my left hand ended up almost useless for about 4 weeks.

He hasn't mentioned that as a problem Greg .

Certainly puts some strain on the wrists. Today I was on the one with wheels rather than tracks, and found its motion quite a bit harsher than the tracks. It's been out on a long term hire so I haven't used it much at all. A bit like those wild bull rides they have in some pubs I reckon.
37, probably humid up there too. Not very nice. Beautiful day here today, 25, still, dry. Lovely.

Just an experiment to see if I can lift a video from Facebook. It's pretty clever !

Wow. That is fantastic.

Things are moving on the Australian Sailfish front. We have a website, australiansailfish.wordpress.com, and so far 7 boats are booked for the Inverloch Regatta. I have looked to my laurels and put some decking paint on mine, it's difficult to stay on in the best of conditions. I think I'd better move the boat to a more accessible place so I can get some practice!
Interesting site for tools etc.

Just shy of Double Is Pt. Clear, flat sea, NE looks like it's thinking about it. We'll bypass Moolabubl and head straight to Moreton Bay.

It's mild and fine down this way.

Talking to a carpenter mate about cordless drills. He reckons Ozito are the ducks nuts so I'm going to give it a go.

Will do. I've had two people tell me the brand is good value so far.

Fine morning. N breeze. Just outside Southport.

Hot afternoon yesterday with a strong NE wind. Change, southerly squalls on and off all night.
