My new employer company pants Muriels! Please keep me in the loop if it is open to interloping crow eaters Rick and I'll see if I can talk the boss into putting up a submission! He's a yachtie too so a recce up your way would be most enjoyable!

Apparently only invited artists will be panting muriels - sorry!

Who's Muriel? Ours, I guess. And all will be revealed!

Puffin, waiting for floor space in the shed. In fact I have a bit of a shed crisis with the new cars.

Is it too political to say I'm worried, I've been laying concrete blocks today in shorts, tee shirt and a big hat. It's Spring here, it's been +8C overnight here and +4C every day this month.

If this continues we're going to burn and Summer is going to be Townsville weather .

I know it's cool down South but here it's very strange.

Great boating weather here.......as in a great day to be shut up cosily in the garage working on them.....it is teaming down here, so no shooting but should be able to get a bit done on the skiff. And my Oak grove is quickly turning into a forest.

A sharpish 8C this morn, so thence 14km walk and our cliff front beach for lunch. A winter solstice swim with water at a stunning 21C!

Neither Mal, I had a go at germinating some acorns and thought 3 out of 20 had worked, but so far I now have 10 of them through, with the first three having grown about six inches in a week. I got so excited with my success that I started a thread:

We took a couple of friends a few miles out today to see if we could find some whales. We did see a few leaping out of the water, huge things that they are, but they were all a long way from us, unfortunately. However, the day was just about perfect for taking visitors sailing - clear, offshore wind (maybe a bit light) and not much swell. Great day, really!

Sailing up to Morton Bay next Saturday, not on Redwing unfortunately. A mate is heading for the Whitsunday Islands and I'm hitching a ride as far as Russell Island.

They're easy to spot. Just listen for little chipmunk combos doing cheesy little pop numbers on the lower branches. Avoid any wearing sombreros!
