I guess that's how you found out how smelly the mud is there!

No, the skipper was very good at avoiding mud banks but the otter boards and nets scooped up some truly disgusting substances.

I might have links to a Hartley TS16 for sale in SA (Transportable to VIC at no cost for collection) if anyone out there might want one? My Father in law needs to move one on.

Absolutely magic day on the water today. Perfect day for a sail out over the bar but I was on duty and had to settle for driving PD two zero at speed...25.5 knots.
Saw a few Dolphins and some flying fish, that never cease to impress me. Had a Hobie Cat that not only brought me to dead stop but had to go astern because he pressed his right of way to excess.

`Cant say our trip across the bar was quite that perfect, but we did manage to get our entire deck washed. I do have to agree with Gary the day was magic. Wee Barkie tried her luck trolling some lines again, but our speed may have been a little slow. Lazy sailing with the Fleming working well, just the occasional adjustment steering around other fishing boats on the reef. The flying fish where prolific ,and the return trip across the bar on an ebb tide uneventful

Looks like we have a new wooden boat event in Victoria, a Wooden Dinghy Regatta held by the Sth Gippsland Yacht Club, Inverloch over the Australia Day weekend, 2014. Inverloch had a regatta day for decades and the object is to restart it with this event. The organisers have a couple of salvaged and restored boats themselves and they want participants to have as much of the history of their boat they can find. I will be there with the Mac and possibly the Sailfish, the original name of which I have found. With luck the article will be linkable sometime next week.

Well I've outed Dunc over on his shed thread. Fancy boxes to collect dust from compound mitre saws. Hand made in ply to start with, but then off to China once the concept is proven. It's a real winner.

I have a job interview this coming Friday, for the dream job - Rowing Coordinator for one of the schools I coach.

As well, I have docs to drop in on Wednesday for the seasonal harvest work, the toilet cleaner people have phoned twice this morning and want to see me on Thursday. No word from the big money jobs yet, but them aside, it's all happening this week! Surely one of these will bear fruit!! Come! On! World!

    No!

It needs some work, such as adding "4WD" as a prefix to the "slashing & mowing" bit, but...

That's Mt Warning in the background. We're getting one with 80 hours on the clock to very near half price, and the grass never stops growing. Check one of these wee beasties out in action:

Cool Duncan, when do you pick it up?

Looks like the ducks guts Dunc. Just put a winch on the back for when you go too far. There's a similar beast available in green. I can't remember the name. Maybe more ground clearance. Around $8000 I think. I'd kind of like one

Looks like I might have a better outboard bracket and it's mounted on rails so it can be raised up. Cost is a slab.

Looks like a fun sort of occupation Duncs, good luck with it. The funny thing is here in Auckland we've a little controversy where the council has just stopped mowing all the grass berms in the city. Thats normal for some cities ,but here people are used to it being done. Its a PIA for us , we're on a corner.

I'm hoping it'll be fun! I'm saying goodbye to 25 years of professional practice as a consulting landscape architect and 8 years of higher education (undergrad' honours and masters). Contrary to all previous reports, having a higher education and a set of well developed complex skills and a truck load of experience doesn't automatically mean you'll have a good income. I really hope this works!

Pick it up either end of next week or earlier the week after. You can be my first customer Peter!

Never mind all that - that's just grist in life's mill.

Now, you're going to need a hat so make sure you get your entry in for the GBC!

JB, you're going to need one too if you're going to have to mow your own footpath , so you'd better work on your package as well!
