My thoughts too, maybe we need a co-op boat, but then there's the maintenance and I'm generally only up once a year. Nah, I'll just heavy Gary for a ride.

Chebacco plans seem very difficult to get hold of, and the two places I have found (Paysons and Bolger's Friends) don't have any online payment or even online contact. Duckflats do, but no description of what's in the plans. I have a sense they might be plans for all three at Duck Flat (strip plank, carvel and plywood hard chined).

Give duck flat a call. They have real people there in a shed full of boats and stuff. Nice guys to deal wih. Don't let click and buy limit your options. Does seem odd that someone who's going to go to all the trouble of building a boat will write off any plan supplier who doesn't have full on line service. Gonna be a whole lot of retail space for rent real cheap pretty soon I reckon.I have an idea also that the guy who originally set up duck flat splntered off and set up a shop specialising in sharpies buut I'm not sure whether that's current

Rob I was on 75mg for a couple of weeks and we are reducing the dose every couple of weeks. Just gone to 25 today. Seeing the lung doctor in a couple of weeks and the plan is to get down to 5 or 10 by around late january and then stay on that until august 2013 then drop it altogether. At that stage there is. 30 percent chance of rcurrence of the BOOP in which case go round again. So the current dose is pretty high but a lot less than it was. Its like being on speed ll the time (although I've never taken speed) huindred mile an hour drugs. Everyone even says imbtalking twice as fast as usual. I certainly through a shipload of work in the past week in png. Can't keep up myself.

Phil, Bolger and Friends only take faxes..I don't have a fax machine. They have no phone and no email and no website. Of course I'd prefer to deal with them but that makes it a bit hard.

Paysons require a bank cheque, and give no descriptions whatsoever of what's in plans for $60 but sounds too cheap.

Duckflat on the other hand sell ostensibly the same thing for more than $200. Likewise, they have descriptions of their other plans, and/or study plans, but not for the Chebacco. Before you jump in too hard, you'll note I didn't write off any supplier at all, I was just putting it out there to see if anyone had any other information.

If we had access to a dinghy I know the general vicinity to go looking. I have an outboard that might or might not run but nothing to clamp it to.

In truth we'll probly do the rowing then I'll be off with the family to get some lunch and stuff like that. If he boat is at the rsays there's club dinghys there you can borrow.if at North Arm its wild country down there you could probly just borrow a dinghy if you have a pair of rowlocks and oars.

I believe it's behind Garden Island but not in the Small Boat Club basin, so further round. Since I was a member of SBC many years ago I believe there's now a Garden Island Yacht Club. I expect to find it in there. I could be wrong about that but winkling the info from a quick phone call, that's what it sounds like. I think I may have the owner's nickname since yesterday, but I'm waiting as requested for my mate to talk to him first. Possibly today if he turns up for a regular get together.

Bruce in keen anticipation but free from all vices like patience and sitting quietly.

I pinched my daughter's motor bike and swooped out to Garden Island for a quick squiz in the wind and drizzle. I couldn't see anything from the road because of all the hard-stand queens and hulks lined up going crispy in the weather. I did see a Seawind 24 on the hard and it brought back fond memories, but nothing much else of interest.

If I don't hear anything by Wednesday I'll see if I can borrer a dinghy and go for a fossick.

I have my oars at home now along with my scull. There has been a horrible argument between a club member and the club over ownership rights to a double scull that the member bought and stored in the club shed so I'm taking no chances with my own boat. It will stay at home until the issue is resolved. I'll have to sling it from the ceiling in the passage, it doesn't fit anywhere else.

Bruce, sitting sadly at home and waiting for a call about a boat that may not even exist.

Built a boat today. Or to be more precise a boat shaped garden planter for SWMBO. Last year I retrieved some big slabs of a cut up clinker built boat and this contraption was built from one of the less useful pieces. Complete with mooring cleat and thole pins too.

Sorry about the club unpleasantness Bruce, our local canoe club disbanded over similar issues. 'Club house' was a shed on private land and a personal spat escalated. Oh we still all meet to paddle on a regular and opportune basis, based on a phone tree. I daresay we get on the water more often as a result and NO MEETINGS!

I reckon one of the sculls that is or was recently for sale on ebay is hanging from a ceiling-kind of decorative. Looking forward to a row. Not a row. ie paddle, not fight

Two days of rainforest walks with my children and grandchildren at Binna Burra, a really lovely place . We do it every year at this time, different walks through different micro environments, mainly short to suit a 7 year old but still lots of fun.

I'm prepared to accept that aesthetics are very much a matter of personal taste. I have no need or desire to convince anyone that what I think is beautiful is what they should think is beautiful, or that they should not think quite perfect something which I think to be ugly as sin.
