Thanks Tom. If nothing else I learned a lot of new skills, and I did get in some very good sailing.

You've certainly made the right decision. You've taken her out well before she deteriorates to the point where she causes pollution and navigation problems. Too many boat owners are irresponsible in this regard. You've made a responsible decision and placed yourself in a good position to move forward from this. On to the next adventure!

JB, your son's Townson restoration not proceeding or is this a previous endeavour?

Yep, that was the rotten hull going to the tip. The 'new' hull went on the old keel, many parts and rig transferred over, went sailing in January 3/4 finished. Ah.. youth.

I didn't get to sell the ballast, it's put off till Friday....all happens on Friday.
Well I'm glad I prefabbed the cradle base at home because it took me from 9.30am to 4pm to reassemble it and fit the hull supports...though I am 4 nuts and washers short. So back up on Thursday to finish it off and tackle any small jobs that aren't apparent yet.

Trying to cover all eventualities, such as rain making the driveway slippery.
Tomorrow is the last day to finish last minute jobs. Friday it all happens.

There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.

Thanks. I've done all i can, i just need the 3 trucks to turn up at the right times now.
Started the day leaving my mobile in the car, which Kerry drove home. It's quite disconcerting how much we have come to rely on them. Sitting in a pub with free wifi.

Spent the morning moving the boat back about a metre and then jacking it up to get the cradle off the ground.

Brought the dinghy home for a renovate of the deck and to find an annoying leak. Found a soft spot but not I think too much trouble, the leak being into the side tank flotation, from the cockpit. Hopefully that is it.

Had a nice day trip up to the Pumicestone Passage today for day one of the annual Bribie Classic Boat Regatta. Saw Tom and a few other friends up there. Lovely day, sweet boats.

Would be called a contemporary unless it’s older than 25 years old, after that it may well be open to individual interpretation.

Judging by the 1988 date on one sail i would say its at least 30+ years old.

The Bribie Classic organizes it this way:

    "What is a Classic Boat?
Historic: A boat built up to and including 1918.
    Antique: 1919-1942.
    Clasic: 1943- 1975.
Late Classic: 1976 to 25 years prior to the current year.
Contemporary: a wooden boat built within the last 25 years."

    So there you go.

I've made room in the shed for the TS16 and it's only a few days before we go and get it. It will be a few weeks before I can get started on it though...I'm under orders to renovate the kitchen first.

Middle of summer in Ireland - the temps only got above 10 this weekend.
My parents, fully vaccinated, have their granddaughter and great grand son on a holiday together. Cold, but the sun is shining in other ways
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.

Prepped my deck, found the leak, exised a small bit of rot in a seam.
Now all I need is a suitable temperature for 2 pot mix. Not cold today, but not warm either.
Regions here are mostly out of lockdown but masks in shops etc mandatory.
