Okay I'm officially an idiot, the hi res are different. They cover the glue up phase of the mast build. Anyway I'm seeing if I can still find enough for the article.

Bought it second hand 2 or 3 years ago. The parts are all nicely labelled so even the holes in the iron line up with holes in the horizontal bits and Tek screws just whizz in. The uprights arent concreted in yet, so a whole lot of measuring and squaring and levelling and jigging about tomorrow morning, chuck in some quick set cement and then pop the back and roof on. The front is a big tilt door. I had to weld some steel onto the bottom of the uprights as they had been cut off at floor level when the shed was deconstructed.

Skipping back a few posts, our second born, the opera singer, recently had the rest of this year's work cancelled in one afternoon. They also run a small production company and have just submitted a grant application to do a version of a show they'd planned to do a national tour of. Midnight Sun, Icelandic Myth and Music, which has been put on in Adelaide and Hobart so far. Instead of a national tour the plan is now to record the eight vocalists remotely from each other, mix and master, and present it as video with animated story telling of the myths. If successful it will provide a bit of employment for eight vocalists, an animator, a graphic artist, and technical bods.

I'm not sure what the plan is regarding releasing it, but assume it's to be a streaming video thing.

Fingers crossed please. It's very lean times for all in the Arts.

My dog Bear is keeping me from the worst of what's going on. Between Bear and around 100,000 bees I keep occupied. As for boating I just daydream a bit but not much else.

I saw that Jorje and Jodie sold Siquando. I think that didn't quite go to plan. Pity.

    Stay safe you lot

With level 3 restrictions Marine Rescue has advised volunteers with pre existing medical conditions stand down.So I guess that's me off the roster for the duration.

Oh I don't know, Tim Severyn crossed the Atlantic in a leather one and The Myth Busters built and tested one out of frozen papermache.

Madly trying to make this work, so I'm thinking I will buy some pine tomorrow and cut staves out of it to show the construction process.

Just listened to a press conference with the head of police up this way. Seems it's still okay for surfers to go surfing as long as they practice social distancing. That being the case I'm going to go do this couple of hours work on Redwing tomorrow.

Its solely for firewood. Got to line it with old pallets first so the sides dont get banged about.

Painted the shed again after most of the paint got washed off in yesterday's rain. Back to bright sunshine today so I think that's done.

Well it's done. I went up to the boat for a few hours and the work I had done now sports a layer of glass tape.
Watched a pointless argument between two dog owners over a pile of dog excrement. The owner of the dog wouldn't use a plastic bag to pick it because plastic bags kill marine life. The second dog owner offered to pick it up with cardboard. First dog owner innsisted dog excrement was natural and went back and squished it with his shoe to prove his point. I just watched this unfold and shook my head

There was a very cool little pub in some little town in Mayo - i forget which one. Ballina maybe. Its where you went if you wanted to play chess or smoke a pipe. I'm not sure of the history but every year the new Irish chess champion would have to pilgrimage to this little pub and play all comers. The publican also made his own pipe tobaccos, matured and flavoured them - and sold the most wonderful collection of pipes (long after pipe smoking had disappeared on the main street).

The owner was also a seriously cantankerous ol bastard.

he was out walking his dog one night and he met one of his regulars who was also walking his dog. They spoke for a minute and carried on.
next night, the regular entered the pub and was informed he was barred for life. When he asked why - he was told to ask his dog.

Turned out that during the brief interlude on the street, regulars dog bit owners dog.
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.

This is the real reason WA closed its boarders to New South Welshmen.

Any lower than the bottom of the pipe and I run out of water. I've pretty much got rocks sussed. Reversing out is actually harder but I'm getting to know it. If it was up to me I'd rip out all the rocks and put concrete blocks. They could get another berth in there...oh bugger did I just say that?
