Given the number of kiwis in WA it seems unlikely that there could be any left in NZ.

We know from this thread that there are at least 4.
Rick
I wonder what caused those four to remain behind? Strange world.
That is exactly what we where planning to do however that will become problematic with the NSW Queensland border closing tonight.
I was planning to exchange WB rig to the gaff conversion this Friday so that won’t be happening.
Our veggie garden is looking good and will shortly go into full production .
I am also reviewing and updating security in our home.

That's a little bit American. That last bit. We still don't have keys for our doors and have no plans to change that!

If you mean biosecurity, we have this.

You know Phil us Canucks hate being compared to Yanks, one would think after living in this great country for 28 years I would have got over that.
Anyhow I was brought up in the country and learnt to shoot at an early age also used to hunt for deer ,moose and geese every year.
Great to hear you still don’t lock your doors one of the obvious benefits of living in a smaller country community where neighbours are more likely to look out for each other.
Our neighbourhood is quite safe but I am just not sure how the numerous unemployed will impact on our city.
However if past experiences are any indication once people loose employment they still have to feed their families which brings me back to Balboa Panama back in 1989 where the city was not safe to go out in and even GIs where regularly rolled ,the preferred method was to drop them by sticking them with a knife .
Oops my bad. Shocking how the Yankee influence has crossed the border.

Not at all bad ,Americans are generally great people and I have always enjoyed traveling in their country and socialising with them.
Somehow the Sh&# became very real when I secured and packed up the boat this afternoon not knowing when I would be able to return after our State border closure later tonight.
Yeah that's a thing. As I said a few posts back, double your mooring lines and hunker down. I need to get a solar panel onto mine as I've just been shore charging when I'm down there. I never leave the mains on when I'm not there. Now that the davits are on, I have a place to put the panel. Not going to start on the wheelhouse roof until we come out the other side. We aren't locked down yet but I expect it within the next week or so.

Life just got a bit more interesting. I'm being referred to a specialist just over the border about the lump on my back. Also I got the doc to look at a spot on my hand and I'm back in town next week for a 2nd opinion and possible biopsy.

Hoping that all goes well Gary!

I THINK it's still the case that people will only be tested if they've travelled or had direct or indirect contact with someone known to be infected.
Rick
Yes , best wishes Gary, I trust it will turn out to be nothing of concern.
Time for a beer I think...and stare into some forest off the back verandah. Get off the rollercoaster for a moment.

Slightly broader in SA now. Medical professionals, aged care workers etc. But interestingly everyone who is tested for any respiratory infection here is also automatically tested for corona.

Fingers crossed Gary. Not a good time to be having any sort of illness or surgery.

We're in lock down now. I must have made at least one good decision though because the life sentence block aka lifestyle block aka a few acres of bush and a bit of grass , means we have some room to move and plenty of projects with a chainsaw.
Today, a row, photograph birds, cut down two small but big enough to be scary wattle trees, they went where they were told,20 flowering cherry trees up to about 4 inch dia, 2 woolly nightshade and one bush that just p÷=×$^ me off. Everything except the bush is on the noxious weeds and plants of Northland list.
Day 2, have lie in.
I spend my days doing domestic stuff to help look after the MIL, visit the hospital every second day, go shopping and try to build more of our kitchen cabinets, and very occasionally, do some boat maintenance.
Rick
I'm still working at this stage, well, as much as I ever do. A bit of earthmoving, a bit of gardening, a bit of looking after our friends' nearby property with its cows and sheep. And some boatwork when I get a chance and while I can still drive down here. When we do go to stage 4 I imagine I will still be able to go to our friends' property, welfare of stock. So that's a days work a week. But the other stuff will have to stop. I've been into a couple of hardware shops and a chandlery, and petrol stations. I wear gloves, no mask. People seem to be observing social distancing quite well. I've just bolted down the last of my stanchions, the lazarette hatch and tightened my shrouds a bit. Slow progress, but in the right direction. Plenty of work to do around the house when we do get shut down. I expect that to be next week.

Neat job!
Rick
Yeah I picked the neatest one! Some are not all that pretty. I have a knack for doing unbeautiful work. But they feel solid and I dont think they will leak. Thats a win.
How stupid do you have to be?
BREAKING | A man has been taken into custody at Queensland's new border checkpoint after allegedly arriving in a stolen car with hand-drawn number plates while carrying drugs, a gel blaster and having outstanding warrants against his name
