Interesting if that channel is navigable it might be easy to dredge a channel up to the property given there are not to many environmental or neighbouring concerns.
Who knows it may be a suitable marina location given future needs combined with someone who is able to exploit legal loopholes or able to lobby in order to get such a project of the ground.

Navionics thinks there's very little depth there, half a metre all the way back to the marina in that channel. There could be a bit of a channel in the middle. Worth checking, just in case

Half a metre is enough for a tinny and outboard to get down to the mooring.

It actually looks like there's a dredged drain channel every couple of hundred metres running at right angles to the river. This time of year the river is quite high with all the rain coming down. We had to divert around the road in the Huonville township which runs alongside the river on Saturday evening because it was partially under water. And there's a spot halfway between Huonville and Franklin where the river was lapping at the edge of the road. We couldn't reach dad's dinghy to go for a row because the little jetty it is tied to was under water.

Should have left my boots on. Guess I’ll do some indoor stuff, like sewing the cover for my outboard.

Is that gunter rigged Tom, it looks very much like an 18 ft boat I got to sail back in the 90s. It would be long gone by now it had substantial rot.

    A snippet.
When he awoke his eyes were a bit blurry but as they cleared he became aware of a pale glow but right there in front of him was Ogden Fairweather as if it was perfectly natural for them to be in a dark forest in the middle of the night. “Ogden Fairweather where have you been?” but before he could say anything else he heard a little laugh behind him, sitting up he turned around. There, sitting on the fallen tree, was a pretty girl. Now Icknittle lived alone and generally spoke to his cat for company, but even Icknittle recognised a pretty girl when he saw one, even if she did glow in the dark."Um, hello," he said. "Who are you?"

Jubilee one design class by Charles Peel in 1935 last timber one built in 1967 with moulds taken of and from then on built in fibreglass . Many of them call Ballerat YC home. Interestingly we have 6 boats up in Queensland several usually take part in the Vintage Regatta..

Just curious did you live on Macleay Is seeing you are well known there?
In which case I know the boat you are referring to since I looked at it years ago.

No but I've been up to the islands a number of times and I do have some friends up that way. The boat I sailed had a bit of a cabin and was based at Dunwich. It was painted a rather horrible red colour with I think a white hull which was I was told was red cedar but I think western red more likely. The hull was glassed as many of the planks were rotten. Despite all that it could really sail. Last I heard it had been stripped of anything useful and left to rot. I have a photo somewhere.

    Sorry about the toe Gary!

I removed one of Masina's water tanks and I don't need it anymore. It's SS - L750, W520 and the bottom is tapered so the height is 360 at one end and 300 at the other. There's nothing wrong with it and it could be used for water or fuel or waste. If anyone wants it, you can have it. You'll have to pick it up or arrange pickup. I'll put it on Gumtree if no one here wants it.

Can you post a photo or two? Dunno how I'd get it here but one day I'm going to have to put a holding tank in the head, unless I go to a composter. Which I guess is most likely if one will fit.

If you go the composter, you'll need plenty of organic material to add. Try coir garden soil blocks which store small, but swell to give lots of material as needed. https://www.bunnings.com.au/brunning...block_p2962073.

That's a 50' cat that's been picked up out of the water on one side of a marina dock, and dumped upside down in the water on the other side, if the news is to be believed. So far this winter, pretty much the whole country, except Christchurch, has been hammered by one storm or another.
