Ricks is a bit of an overkill for a 10 ft boat.

Rick, I sent you some pics of the moth from my phone. I quite good order and a very early sail number, in the 800's. But ther isa another sail with a 1300 number so I don't know which one applies. It's on a trailer but……… I don't think that's moved for some time………….

I watched it on iView - being such a modern chap. I thought it was great. If you haven't read through the Defiance article I posted above, you really should. It's terrific and the photos are beautiful.

Jeff, that block isn't very big. A smaller diameter mainsheet would be a pain to handle. I'll check the photos - thanks!

The workbench might not be adequate.

How have you managed to keep it all so clean and tidy? If I was doing this, the wharf and the interior would be knee-deep in dust and chips.

Well, it's all about camera angles. But I am being careful because I don't even know if there might be some bylaw against working on wooden boats in the marina. Might back it in for the day as I don't want to risk messing up someone's NYE BBQ with the sound of screaming power tools. Plus I'm slightly PTSD about the progress made today.

Some of you'll remember the little trawler/snapper boat we were loosely connected to the restoration of? Aaaaanyway, since I'm still waiting for a gearbox part for Masina, we're stealing/borrowing Gem for a little excursion out onto the bay this evening. It's been really muggy here so it'll be nice to be out there in the little bit of breeze we have. The excuse is fireworks watching but whenever we do it, we only ever seem to catch a few flashes in the distance so I really couldn't care less about that. I just like being out on the water. Woody spotted his lifejacket going into the bag so he's pretty happy about it too!
