My boat's about four boats to the left of the left-hand boats in the top shot, which means she's in the background of pic 2. It's really not a lot of fetch there, so it's surprising the timber launch got smashed up.
I'm glad she's on a 50 ton mooring that was recently checked.
50 tons. That's a heck of a mooring.

Yep, it's a commercially rated one from our Rosinante-owning friend.
I'm liking getting older. Just renewed my licence. I've been wearing glasses for 35 years. Did the eye test with them off. Passed first go. Don't need to wear 'em while driving now.
Isn't that Salamander? I thought your boat was at North Arm. Or isn't it Salamander? I don't recognise any of the boats and I can't really make out the background. It certainly was windy yesterday - about 30 knots all day. Supposed to be windy today but it's been quite light - just really wet!
Rick
The boat and pic are at Corlette until we arrange our own mooring. That's got to wait, since in the next three weeks we've got a move, our eldest's wedding in the US, and a new job.
We've decided we're damn happy to have the boat at Port Stephens; it's much less busy than I thought it would be and we're finding some lovely little spots.
I wish Port Stephens was closer, a lovely spot!

It's never busy on the water at Port Stephens. It's not going to move Peter but you could.
Rick
I don't think management would allow that Rick.

The weather here really has been ****e, and now it's official! So far in June, we have had just 13 hours and 48 minutes of sunshine, and only 6 days without rain.

Talk about a bad time to decide that I really need to get off my arse, and get more exercise! In spite of the demotivational weather, I've managed to get a 6km run down from 45 minutes six weeks ago to 33 minutes tonight.
Pete
A pretty good time Pete!

My running daze are over I think but I used to pound out 9 km along my road in around an hour 15m. Pretty slow but the road is hilly. Actually I preferred hills to flat going.

I never run.

What if there are tigers?
Then I'd probably run. But they'd run faster. Provided I run faster than someone else that's OK.

There was a young lady of Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger;
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.
I had a lady on the back of the bike in Sumatra... taking me on a guided trip around Lake Maninjau.... about a 70km ride. At one stage the road had gone away from the lake, so I headed up some single track to see if we could get a decent photo looking down on the lake. Once signs of civilisation disappeared, she freaked (and no... she wasn't worried about me). Turned out she was petrified of the tigers. Didn't get the photo. Told me stories, she did... of farmers and tigers. The tigers won.
The one thing, eh?
Well worth visiting.

Wish I'd taken the camera to the boat today. Lovely White-breasted Sea Eagle sitting there, watching the world go by.
Not very good photos but a while back I was given a print of part of the plans for America printed on homemade paper. I finally framed it.

In a world full of wonders, man invented boredom.
Minimal overhangs, low aspect rig, low freeboard, sturdy full length keel, looks like the perfect design for cruising the world.

Back in the days when you could actually use the boat for something practical after the race.
