Maybe he has put the table in one of those fancy whizzy things meant to stop power boats rolling too much.

I'll get them to put the toilet seat down, steady the teacups, paint the Yanmar green then take some flattering photos.

Do you think the seller would deliver it to the Gold Coast?

Depends on how seaworthy it looks, but it might be possible to arrange a gentle delivery via sea rather than a spine rattling truck delivery. I know a bloke who knows a bloke...

Oh, it's not Arawana. The 25 footer is a timber yacht.

Geez mate... I thought you were giving us a subtle heads up on an Arawana sale.

Speaking of spine rattling truck deliveries, I got the quote for delivering Grantala to a mate's place, up near Coffs. $5.6k for the truck. Add $0.75k for two Franna's at the other end and about the same at this end for loading via the Travelift. Call it $7k. I'm almost certain to do that, rather than cut her up. The mate's Dad is a retired builder. I'm sending up all my workshop gear to them too... bandsaws, table saw, thicknesser, jointer, spindle sander, etc. If his Dad feels like playing... he can. Who knows... she may see the water again. It's worth giving her the chance, rather than cutting her up (which would leave my wallet a lot healthier)

Every week I drive past Grantala Street and wonder how it's going.

Regarding Arawana, there may be news soon. Depends on someone else at the moment. Arawana is not for sale publicly but that will come to pass sooner or later.

The tea did not stay in the cup. And the cold sore seems to have gone away. Like the fruit cake.

                  Re: Antipodean Boats Connection

WB gaff conversion is back on and I have plans to sail her with her new rig in next years Vintage Regatta.

Presently exploring the idea of building a lighter scantling 8-9 m box mast and shaping it. Going square rather than birds mouth in my opinion will be quicker require less accuracy and manpower.

Looking for feedback on my proposal?

I'd expect to see some triangular fillets in each inside corner , Tom.
You get them off the outside corners ( where the scissors are)

Building a new rig is a big job whichever way you look at it. I've never really liked the look of square masts. I would say it's no place to cut corners. But that's exactly what it is. I suspect that once you have the method sorted in your head birdsmouth is not much harder than square.

This is a bit of a signature dish. Something special. I call it slow cooked quick oats with sultanas, creamy milk and dark brown sugar.

It's easier for me as it allows second hand oregon to be used and the nail holes and knots to be cut out and the shorts scarfed into longs.
