I spent over half an hour searching the shed for the rudder pintles, with an increasing amount of frustration. NOTE the white bag on the port quarter.

Ha ha - we've all been there. That reminds me... I've got a large collection of bronze bits... not sure whether to sell them off or keep them for retirement projects, assuming I end up spending some time in Oz.

I did a beauty sometime back with my block sander. I searched the shed, I searched around the house and I even went up to the boat and searched that...back when I had a keelboat on a mooring. I could not find it anywhere. I decided I must have lent it to someone and they hadn't brought it back. I'm out in the shed one day and I reached down for the dustpan and brush on a shelf under the bench...and there it was, in plain sight.

Sometimes I really hate it when I tidy stuff up. The rudder gudgeon were quite happy hanging over the whiteboard. Then I put them somewhere better, and now I don't know where that better spot is..it's so annoying.

A long day in town, so figured before I sit down with a wee nip of single malt I'd have another look for the rudder gudgeons. So I've looked everywhere, and I mean everywhere...hang on, what's in the plastic box on the floor? Found them!

Playing with the rudder stock today. The bottom pintle must have had a couple of screws plus a bolt holding it on. The center hole is a through bolt. When I drilled the outer bolt holes the holes went into the ends of the centre cockpit floor support. I think I will have to embed a couple of bolts into the holes.
I think the new tiller I made for Redwing will need the stock trimmed a bit to fit.

Okay, now this took some doing. I paid very close attention to the instructions, I studied the illustrations...several times. And I still managed to get the wall brackets bolted to the wall...upside down.

Luckily it was easy to fix.![]()

Fascinating.

That it is.
A bloke really has to work hard to get responses on this thread, but....
It is an amazing story.

Well worth posting! Thanks

I've discovered at least two things I don't like about my Metabo tablesaw. The lockdown lever on the fence has a plastic cap on the end...it fell off.
The dust extraction system is a narrow plastic case enclosing the lower half of the blade. Thin offcuts fall in and block the outflow.

Crowther Super Shockwave 37. She was originally built for Lock Crowther himself. Won a B2G back in the 80s and then spent 25 plus years with one owner moored in Hardy’s Bay, Brisbane Waters. So sad for Wahoo to end it’s days like this on Yamba Bar. Skipper was rescued and ok.

Is it glass and foam? It seems to have broken into sections rather than being pulverised
I needed a 1/2" router roundover bit.

Its winter down here Gary, I'm building accessories for the CI cannon, which was built fo and once was on a German built merchantman, wrecked or abandoned on the Gippsland coast we think. Boat is secure up in the racks at the sailing club.
Dragged out the 1/2" router today and blew the dust off of it. Once I worked out which direction to turn the chuck I fit the round-over bit and fine-turned the depth setting on some scrap. It's going to get a fair bit of use tomorrow.

A lucky escape for those two blokes.

Fun job today, I decided to sort out my various jars of stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. All the bolts with nuts in one container, and the same for washers and spare nuts.
I did manage some light weight sanding, so it looks like I'm going to get some bits glued onto the boat tomorrow.![]()

Don moved a whole bunch of his stuff out of my shed today...I've been able to spread out a bit. Up until today the epoxy table and the bandsaw both sat on the router table.
