Designing lifting gear for two boats in the garage of the Mornington unit. Boat trailer will live tipped up vertically against an outside wall. We hope to be able to keep a smaller place here but it may not happen.

When I first joined WBF they made me write a book to prove I was a real yachty. I was so gullible.

I've decided to go with the Tanner, it will be quite adequate for my sort of work. I pick it up on Wednesday.

has been floating upside down near us for months, sometimes tied to a mooring, sometimes beached. Prior to that it was upright but kept breaking its mooring line. I don't really know how it was inverted. Anyway, now it's the subject of various attempts to get it out of the water, unsuccessfully so far. I'll be very glad to see it go.

We can't work out why they haven't just rolled it back over to drag it ashore. They keep trying to drag it as it is. Upside down, its craft is too deep to take it anywhere.

The Gold Coast Freeway has got to be one of the worst drives around. Anyway my new table saw is home, albeit still in the back of the Sorento.

Good to know. I could put it to good use right away. I have some spotted gum lining boards 19 ml thick with that recessed edge so I’m going to rip them down to make floor planks for the cabin sole. I ‘reclaimed’ them from a dump bin from a restaurant re modelling job. Just missed out on a large amount of spotted gum lining from the Sorrento couta boat club. They are doing a big re model and not knowing the job was on, arrived a day late to ‘reclaim it from the dump bin. I reckon if I cruised around Melbourne with a trailer for six months I’d have most of what I need for the house build from reclaimed dumpster timber. I got enough Kauri planks from the side of the road rubbish collection inBurwood for deck repairs on my sons boat Roiaata

And I’m over my Covid session. I did a rat test every 2nd day and the 1st beg test was last Thursday. I did a lot of sleeping and resting and still need a snooze in the arvo to feel on top of it all. It’s good to be back to post covid normal.

Coldest start to winter since 1948, and I reckon I remember it. 9 inches of snow at 1200ft at grandpa's in central Victoria. I was 5, I remember snowmen.

My old Rockwell, I removed outside by myself. This one took four of us to get it into the shed.

Looks like I need a heavier extension lead for the saw. Either that or my generator is under performing. The saw motor is 2.5 kw and my genny 4.5 kva.

congratulations! That’s quite an achievement!
My ancestors, the firs arrivals in the 1860’s were drainage experts and had a hand in that ecological disaster of draining the Koweerup swamp. They had a drain named after them, Hallam Main Drain.
There’s also the suburb of Hallam just outside Dandenong and the Hallam Pub was originally their inn they built and operated for a decade or so after the drainage job finished.

I think my 4.5kva genny needs a (it needed one anyway, it's been running rough for a while) service. This table saw pulls 8.9 amps and the genny will only just spin it. I tried running it from the house 3.5 kva genny via a very long 10amp lead and it started, but the load over that distance stalled the genny.
Anyway, getting there.
