I'd like some rain. About 400 gallons of rainwater and a similar amount of dam water left.

The local water carter will fill tanks, not cheap though. My spring is still running.

Tom, How long is it overall, and what do you estimate it weighs?

I'm thinking about heading down for the Tumbulgum Passage Race. What classes of boats are eligible? I have a kayak. :-)

I had a look this morning while cutting my Tammie mast timber’s it’s shorter than I thought probably about 5m . We are at Hockey in Brisbane ,but I will take some pictures tomorrow.

The Tum race is primarily NS ,Corsair, Lasers, cats and other sailing craft. However it is a great trip and there will be cars heading back up to Condong from Fingal after the race to pick up yours if you are coming solo . You are welcome to stay the night if you wish

Plan B is 20 litre water containers from town. Plan C is a water truck. If we recycle every bit of water...say shower -> garden , washing up -> garden we should be able to last a few months. I have another small tank attached to the shed that holds another hundred gallons. That alone would last quite a while @ 1 shower each every two days using 10 litres each...though Kerry will use 20 litres if she washes her hair...frivolous woman that she is.

We are close to catching up to average, but there's very little runoff. My tanks are full, but the local water storages are not much above 60%. That desal plant may get a serious run this summer.

BTW. Did you notice the US Roundup judgement?

In the Race Instructions from TVSC:

"NB: CHECK YOUR INSURANCE IS CURRENT - All participating boats to have 3RD party insurance + min. $5M public liability."

    For dinghys? Seriously?

Yes, but the EPA ( preTrump) still approved it. I use it but I'm pretty careful with it.

You're welcome to run a bit of poly pipe from my overflow into your tank... too much rain where I am... tanks have been overflowing for months. My driveway is developing gullies from all the run off, not long before it is unnavigable by car. Glad I have plenty of boats handy in case this is the end of the world.

I don't think I can afford 3,500 miles of poly pipe.

A boat or two is good, but three is better. Arawana needs a tender and I haven't had time to start building one.

Anyway in case anyone has forgotten what Arawana looks like...

Matt the sweep is about 5.5 m long weight around 10kg if you don’t have racks we can always cut it since it would probably need to be trimmed for Pixie.

It's no problem in one piece. I have roof racks.
I'll definitely come down on the weekend of the Tumbulgum race. Are you sailing on the Saturday?

I think I've offered them before.... but if anyone wants a Dragon or IYE (IIRC) Tornado mast... give me a hoy. I'm getting closer to putting an angle grinder through them and off to the recyclers. Price is right... no interest in selling them, I'd rather see them re-used.

I will be, the race is on Sunday but I will head up to the Tumby bridge around 2pm Saturday. Should have a flood tide all the way.

I have discussed the inferior materials 304 polished or chromed stainless used in the Maxie Marine however it does not end there. The $700 Maxiie complete with a broiler just fell apart this is despite this stove having lived most of its life supported by a stainless gimballed SS bottom plate.
AnnyhowI had to rivet most of the outside back together again, where I also found inconsistencies in the original manufacturing process, and SS plate thicknesses.

Bruce good to see you smiling.

That reminds me... I've got a brand new (now old stock) SMEV 4 burner gas stove... with gimbals.

My fiddles have temporarily been misplaced only to be hiding in some crevices or the bilge.
Since the bilge also harbours several important never to be found again items ,we would do well to strive achieving a showcase bilge as seen on Masina.
