    Great find, Peter.

I found another of the 1939 Nova Scotia clips. The old gentleman at :58 could have easily been my grandfather; same suit and everything. Wrong end of Canada, however.

Are the two power boats in the second half a "type"?

On the first video, the 8 m being built is a Burgess design, commissioned by a friend of mine, no engine installation planed.

Where can I find pictures of the Kohi? Theodore Aldous was Skipper on the USS Kohi during WW2. The scow was leased from the New Zealand government. The Kohi carried arial torpedoes out of New Caledonia to arm the US Navy's PBY long range patrol Flying boats. Japanese subs were sinking the larger ships; but the Kohi could sail at night and hide in the coves of the islands during the day.

Try starting your own thread here in Misc Boats and use Scow and Kohi in the title and one of the NZ scow enthusiasts will be along shortly.....probably.
Our local historic boat the MV Tuhoi did much the same thing in WW2.
    Good Luck.

The Kohi was built in 1911 by George Turnbull Niccol in Freemans Bay. 110 feet long.

It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
