I was following a thread about the prettiest boat under 30'. How about the votes for the prettiest boat under 16'?

OOooohhh. I do like Wizbang's little charmer. And as a former Flying 15 owner I've always wanted a F10 for my grandkids. In fact, now I'm thinking of a Flying 5 for the pond at the bottom of our garden.

You all obviously had to know I wouldn't have started this without my own choice, so here she is. My choice might have something to do with the fact that it led to starting starting to build her, or I would be building tammie-norrie-dinghy-rigged.jpgsomething else. Several of the above were in serious contention, but Tammie Norrie tammienorrie-05.jpgwon the day for me.
Built one of the same (more or less).
Can confirm, prettiest boat.

What I think is a 15' Selway Fisher ''Lillie''. From the Hobart Wooden boat Festival.

That's a tough assignment. Not sure, but this is my favorite picture of a boat under 16', Barrett Faneuf's Yuko, a Welsford Navigator.

“It’s impossible”, said pride.
“It’s risky”, said experience.
“It’s pointless”, said reason.
“Give it a try”, whispered the heart.

What about an Oughtred Gannet ?

My boat (Blue Moon) will be the prettiest, but then I'm biased, and I've got to say that to keep her happy..
Just an amateur bodging away..

The Gloucester Gull has ultimate purity of purpose, inexpensive to build, and terrifying beauty. Bolger was right that he's now in heaven for that design. Incredibly seaworthy, by the way.
Don't even think about adding a sail. She's a rowing boat who will teach you more than any other about putting your muscles and soul close to the water.
The faering definitely deserves a place on this list. Iain Oughtred's Elf here:

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Maybe not the prettiest but my contribution. Built it for my sister in 2012 and resides at her place on Muskellunge Lake in Northern Wisconsin. She still rows almost daily while there and loves it. Spars, sail and rigging were also built but never used. Maybe some day!

Yes Steve, I did have a sneaking hunch I knew where you might come down on this. Go figure, right?
