Default Mercury Mark75 Marathon - Name the boat/find the plans

Everybody knows the famous motor that made two laps around the earth on lake x in Florida but what about the boats? I've got the motor and I'm practicing with an old Richardson, Now who has the plans for those boats in the original Mercury Marathon I so want to build one!

There was an article about these boats in issue #219 of the magazine. Did you see it? These boats are still being built, but on a very limited basis.

    Welcome,

    Brian

Exchanged e mail with Walwork there are no plans available at this time have contacted Sorenson Woodcraft about a stretched Champion DU utility/runabout 16' that could handle a 6 cyl. Or a one off Raveau reproduction

The second generation hulls come up for sale from time to time - I've heard of three in the last three years. They've appeared on Craigslist, kijiji.ca and eBay. Sales of the first generation hulls seem rarer, might be a word-of-mouth thing.

Raveau. I recall the Lake-X thing and offered Mercury a real challenge - sponsor me in an actual round the world trip! I had the boat design including a hydrofoil tank I would tow for the first several hundred miles and than store under the foredeck. Didn't even consider a Reveau because I had an ANA back in the '50s and I could kick a Raveau's tail - self appointed water cop had a Raveau with the largest Evinrude available and I had a Merc KG-7 on my ANA. Next spring cop showed up a 6 cyl merc and still couldn't catch me. Later that summer I scored a Hurricane MK 25 and really embarrassed him.
