A number of years ago in WB there was an article on a trailerable cat ketch named "Shearwater". Does anyone know if the designer built a larger version? Are there any in the Seattle/Vancouver/Victoria area? I am looking for a vessel suitable to live on for a trip to Europe through the canals so will be shipping said vessel by freighter to Europe. This vessel or a sister with headroom might fill the bill.

The Shearwater is the large version of Bolger's Doveki. Don't think there is a larger one.

In Messing about in boats there was a "square boat type" design that was not built but was ment for sailing from austraila to europe and Britian. by Mr Bolger. it had a 6 foot 10 inch bean and a draft of less than 2 feet. and was sized so it could fit through the narrow boat cannals of England. You may wish to contact Mr Bolger and friends ( Try Egroupes; Bolger ) and they can direct you to the design. so that you can consider this. likely it would be a lot cheeper to built than to buy a shearwater
    Good luck and wishes
