Thanks Guys!
Gordocutter, my hand is almost all healed now & can move freely... Boat building will resume slowly toward the end of the week, the mom still need help as the baby...
Can someone explain me why we are the only specie that have such a terrible sound when crying!![]()
Trying to get your attention. Needs help for most activities.
Dream on, Stephane; but ENJOY!! Change happens fast and the baby has lots to teach you.
Ah! Congratulations and welcome! Great news, glad all are well! Enjoy!!
Rick
Ahh, crying. This is 24 hour per day activity for a few months, then tapers off to about 20 hours a day. By the time he's three, it'll only be like 8 or 10 crying instances per day. After age 7 it gets real quiet, relatively speaking.
That's where my child-rearing experience stops, though my friends with older kids have said that crying returns in full force from age 12 through age 25... we'll see.

This new ship here is fitted according to the reported increase of knowledge among mankind. Namely, she is cumbered end to end with bells and trumpets and clocks and wires. It has been told to me she can call voices out of the air or the waters to con the ship while her crew sleep. But sleep though lightly. It has not yet been told to me that the sea has ceased to be the sea.--Rudyard Kipling
Congratulations Stephane and family! I'm glad that things went well in the end despite the scary moments. Do we get a picture of the wee pirate?
Peaceful and Family, glad to hear everybody is OK, I am sure this drama was not what you were hoping for, but I sure am glad it worked out well in the end.
Now I don't mean to be pushy, but it has been said by others before me, 'no pictures, It didn't happen' and while I'm sure it certainly did happen, and you and the bride have the sleep deprivation to prove it, send out a snapshot anyway of this little 'Pirate', as a nice change of pace for us 'honorary uncles', from the broken boats and such...
Wishing Momma and son a rapid recovery and all of you restful sleep sometime this year... Cheers, Steve/BT
Glad to hear all is well after so much drama. Congratulations on the new family member, what a triumph!
Hey Stephane, Congratulations!!!
I'm glad it all turned out OK for everyone. It can be such stressful time when there are problems. People forget just what is involved in a birth even these days with all the medical technology.
A wonderful time ahead and you guys will never regret it all.
Enjoy!!

Bonjour Stephane,
I am very happy for you and Catherine. My best wishes for Catherine's recovery and George-Emry's health. I know you will need all your strength to see to the well-being of your family for now. Thanks for keeping us informed.
Congratulations Captain and God bless,
Sincerely,
Mike
Thats great! Congratulations to all of you and let the adventure begin!

Thanks guys for the nice comment! We discover that our experience of night shift sailing begin to pay off
Here a little video of last night... Sleeping sound when the belly is full!
Ok next time I will put a chisel in his hand to keep it boat related![]()
But as BT said... Here you need a picture to prove it :P
What a cutey! Cheers!! He'll be talking enough soon!

Peaceful, Glad to see the whole crew doing well, it may be early, but I think I see some sailor in that good looking real little one, knows to catch a nap when he is off watch... Time will tell the rest! Cheers, BT
Stephane and Catherene and a brand new George-EmryI am very glad that it has all worked out well in the end.I wish Catherene a speedy recovery.
Looking forward to seeing George-Emry taking his first sail.
Where have we been ? Where are we going ? Why are we here ?
Scary starts guarantees a storybook ending.
Sailing with my children has been some of the best times I can recall. My youngest just turned 17 and has been living aboard since she was 8. By the time she was eleven we would read to each other on long passages becuase we did not have autopilot so some had to stay at the wheel all the time. After we stopped in at Montaray Bay, she read Canery Row to me while I steered the boat. She is an awesome sailor, just imagine what little George-Emry will be like in nine years. Capt. Z.
Stephane, I've just received the e-version of the latest WB magazine. There's a lovely letter to the editor about your photo on the cover of the last WB. I'm sure your new mum will enjoy reading it, as will you! Hope all's going well for you all!
Rick
Thanks Rick for telling me!
The editor sent me this letter when they received it last month, was nice to read for sure...
Seeing all the mystery this picture give to him, I will sure not tell what was happening there now
BTW, boat building resumed full time since a few days... A few more planks ready to be in place.
Show off!!
Rick
Steaming ahead!!! I can just imagine snippets from a typical Tremblay household day:
3.00pm "hmm, something smells like dirty nappies............I'm just off to do some planking darling!!!"
6.00pm "Honey could you bath the baby??"......."I'd love to darling but I've just put a plank in the steamer....."
1.00am "Honey, the babies crying, it's your turn"....."No worries darling, you go back to sleep.....and I'm awake now so I may as well do a bit of planking......oh, how convenient, the sound of drilling and riveting has such a calming effect, I'll bring him out here more often"

Thanks, Greg you are quite close!
But my favourite is: I would darling but I still have some red lead on my hand and you know how its hard to wash it off. I sure won't like to contaminate our baby!

Baby keep Stephane awake? No I don’t think he ever sleeps anyway.
Great work well done
Bump!
Stephane, is George ruling the roost and the poor boat coming last?
It will pass in about 20 years!
C'mon, we need more inspiration. I'm dying to see how it looks now.

Now that Stephane has a baby, he's moved to the suburbs and bought a brick veneer house. He's swapping the Gartside for a plastic family canoe.
Rick
Hey guys... Come on give more theory
I am actually far from everthing, the baby and the boat! I am at the big city of Montréal... Earning some money to lower the loan a bit :P
I knew it! The beginning of the end .... At least make sure that the canoe has a pretty sheer!
Rick
Hello All,
it's been a while without news a lot of things happen during those months. I won't talk about it as a lot of it is personal which I do not want to spread over Internet.
Let's just say that the project is now for sales. The boat, wood, equipment (Anchors, solar panel, stoves, etc...) are all for sale for those interested please contact me for more detail.
Sorry to hear this Stephane, hope all goes well for you and family.

Dear Stephane,
I am very sorry to hear about this reversal of fortune. Sometimes it seems life conspires against us. You have given us so much by sharing your lifes endeavour, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Take comfort in knowing you have done a great thing building a work of art and tradition.
I wish you all the best in whatever direction life takes you and your loved ones.
I had to put my plans for myself and my boats on the shelf this past May after falling from a ladder and fracturing my heel bone. I have discovered the truth in the old saying, that 'when one door closes, another opens'. I am still in a cast after nearly four months, but my eyes have been opened by the kindnesses friends, family and total strangers have expressed towards me.
I hope someday to meet you, face to face, and shake your hand in appreciation of your noble efforts.
Sincerely,
Mike
Good Luck friend

Very sorry to hear that, take care and good luck!

I too am sorry to hear of this development. I've enjoyed watching your build, and I hope you can find someone to finish her in the high quality with which you've started. I hope all works out for the best for you.
Ed
Really sorry to hear this Stephane.
Best of luck with the next stage of your life.

My heart just sank, but I'm sure yours must be broken Stephane!
Is there nothing that will allow you to complete your ship?
And +1 Mike (Full Tilt).

Hi Stephane, very sorry to hear this. Of course I really hope things work out for you and only you and yours can know what's best to do. But, if it's any use at all, my tip would be to see if you can just leave things as they are for a little while - sometimes a bit of time can be helpful in making the right decisions.
Rick

Very sorry to hear that friend. That must have been a very difficult decision. Your build helped a lot to inspire me in mine.
Best of luck with whatever is next.
Was thinking about you recently and just checked your blog yesterday to see what was up. Now you make this post. Ah, me.
Change is life's only constant.
Bon chance, mon ami.

We all know you've considered this deeply at this point. Nobody could invest the time and love into a project like that to the extent you have and then walk away from it. I hope whatever has happened to force you to this turns out for the best and that one day we can watch you lay another keel and finish her. Cheers,
Daniel

Stephane I cannot express how sad I am in knowing about the end of this beautiful journey that you've been so kind in sharing with us. For the time that your story lasted, I could see my dream turning into reality in another person's life, like a magic mirror and for that I'm grateful to you. The word that come into mind is inspiration.
I realy hope everything turn right for you again and wish all the best for you and your family.
All the best
