In 1931 my Grandfather had City Island build for him a 38' Olin Stephens II design called Salabar. She was cutter rigged. In 1937 Sylvester Labrot bought her and moved her to New Orleans. From there to a Dr. H.R. Kahle, and then to Bache Whitlock. In the early 60's she was sold to someone unknown and was last seen at the American Yacht Club in Rye NY. Mr Labrot modified her rig to a 7/8 Marconi sloop. The mast was quite tall with three spreaders. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers anything about Salabar and where she went after the 1963?

I did a search for you on the USCG web site that searches for vessels by Name and it came up with zero results. I used the name "Salabar". Any other information might result in a hit.

Have you checked with S&S directly? They might have a lead on the boat.
I checked the membership list of the S&S Assn.: No boat by that name there. Carlsboats

You may want to check out The Register of Wooden Boats, published by our hosts. I found no Salabar, but there is an index by designer with lots of Stephens designs.

Thank you Carl, Northern Guy, and Scott. As of June 2012 nothing more has been found after 1963.
