OK, I know you've been figuring I've been stuck in the moaning chair for the past month or so, drinking to excess, and generally having a bad attitude.

So, here is how we're looking at the moment:

We have a flat stick, down to 3.75", and it's about to pass thru the double doors to the metamorphosis chamber.

Many people have contributed to this portion of the project, but I'll let them identify themselves at their own peril, with the exception of The Lurker, with whom most things seem possible.

Way to go, Ed and Finbar! We should all be so lucky to have such a boatyard supervisor as Finbar.

    Keep up the good work!

STEWARD!!! I ain't no stinkin' Steward. Who do you think lays my food at my feet? The guy is hopeless, and relies upon me for guidance (well, a few here and some used-to-bes as well, of course) but MOST of all, I'm the boss and it's time you, Peter, acknowledged that!!

Now, if recollection serves, you got a stink pot, so that explains a lot. There is hope, but it's looking pretty dim.

What's this "sneeking around without telling us stuff"?? Ed, I thought Finbar had you sign that WBFFDF months ago? (Wooden boat forum full disclosure form) Well anyway, it looks great! I wish we could all show such progress. Thanks for the update.

Finally another update. Ed it seems like last time you updated you had a big boat, now all I see is a pile of firewodd and piece of lumber on a trailer. Don't tell me she got the best of you and she is now fuel for the winter.

Hello CS...I think your right and I would guess "metamorphosis chamber" means fireplace.

I see by Mr. McRuff's profile his interest in boats was not listed....so I assume his main pursuit in life is to keep all those cats mentioned away from the boat?

Thanks for the update, Ed. It looks like you're keeping that timber well oiled. Cutting a fair curve into the big timber, then cutting the rabbet was so neat. On to the rabbet, sir. Measure twice, mark twice, and then stare long and hard. I missed one area that looked fair but didn't quite make sense, and when I cut it... it didn't make sense, but was only an 1/8" or so odd.

Keep us updated. I guess you're busy with your classes, though, aren't you?

Finbar - keep him straight. Don't let him talk to you like that. "Who taught you to type?" Alpha dogs don't take that lip.

    Cool dog.

    Glad to see an update!

That hunk of wood looks remarkably like a sailboat keel.

Metamorphosis? Will it come out looking like a butterfly? Or will it metamorphose into a sailboat?
