I recognize, I believe, the guy in the boat...can't remember his name. If you are interested I can get more information.

I have seen the boat...can't remember the details. Again, Nicholas, if you are interested in the boat, I can connect you with a guy who is the local Red and White expert....

He will be able to supply you all the information.

The boat is a 25' 1947 Express Cruiser (Red N' White). It had a top down - bottom up restoration that took most of the 1990's. She is named "Flagrante Delicto" and is moored year 'round on Lake Union in Seattle. The engine is a 270 HP "Crusader" marine conversion of a Chevy 350 small block V8 and the bottom is diagonal cross-planked Alaska Yellow Cedar. The side decks, aft deck, transom and cockpit paneling are Philipine Mahogony.

The photograph was taken near Sucia Island in the US San Juans in about 2007.

How do I know these things? I have been the owner for about 23 years ... and ... have cruised this boat just about everywhere you can go in the US San Juans, as well as Hood Canal and the South Puget Sound region. There are many more pictures of this boat and a collection of related interesting "Red and White" - "Express Cruiser" information at this URL:

Is she for sale? Well ... for the right price, I guess all boats are for sale. In any case ...

Well, we've established it is now the boat in the picture for sale, but I actually read the thread and knew that.

I love those Red & Whites.... totally iconic style. Fantastic.

Great boats, agreed. You can do stuff with them and they look right.
