    Well found Peter.
    Here she is finished.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Not wishing to take anything away from Ms McGarva ... but gig building has been in safe hands long before Ralph Bird sadly passed away.

My brother for instance - Peter Williams of Bodinnick Boatyard, Fowey, Cornwall - has built five of them in the last six years.

Maurice Hunkin - also Fowey, Cornwall - has built probably double that if not more over the years, as have the Currah family of Looe, Cornwall, and Peter Martin on the Isles of Scilly has built some well known ones ... not to mention many others, some more well known than others, all over Cornwall (and Devon and other parts of the UK too)
