    “It’s risky”, said experience.
    “It’s pointless”, said reason.
“Give it a try”, whispered the heart.

Nice one John. Dont be in too much of a rush to get completely rid of the wattle, if it is black wattle it makes good firewood, and it grows fast enough to be an endless supply .

I've been told that Grant, there's enough to be selective though, a few monsters amongst them.
What does one do with monkey apple, I'm going to knock a lot of young ones down and end up with 3 in+- poles....10 to 15 ft or so.

You seem to have a whole array of different pests to us.

Our possum pest is protected in AU. As an introduced and particularly destructive beastie, they get shot ,poisoned, trapped and run down without compassion here...unlike Rasputin it usually only takes one of the above to do the job.
Stoats rats and wabbits. (I put weasels, ferrets and parking wardens in with the stoats as they're all the same basic genus.)
One of those is protected though, so you have to be a bit careful.

To get back to boating, I stuffed another dinghy in the van, my eldest daughters sabot,....and sanded and gave a lick of paint to the fabulous stripper so we can tow that north next week. It seems to require a coat of 2 pot undercoat every 3 to 5 years ,after I tape or fill any beach damage from the period.

In other news , Our lovely eldest gal is working hard and now engaged. She organises and runs 'everything' still.

the youngest kid , the slightly weird kid, graduated this year and now has a Psychology degree. ( She's in London now taking some time to travel and work) Did I already put that here?

but in breaking news.... The boy recovered from his accident in may or june and also just graduated with a degree in Maritime engineering. The same day as his results came in he had a contract in his email with a local naval architectural firm, and starts in january! tinny. Exciting firm too. A few years working there and he might be able to write NA after his name.

Thats him on the left a few years ago. His mate Jake on the right is on a superyacht, been to the Horn and Patagonia, 50,000 miles in the last 2 years.
Something trickled down to those boat kids...

I'm pleased to hear that your son recovered well. Congratulations on achieving his degree! (That applies to his Mum and Dad too!)
