    Default Ribands

    Building a 12 Goeller dinghy. Bought some cheap cedar and ripped for ribands. Too knotty. Any suggestions?

    Assuming that you're refering to ribands to bend frames to on the mold and not stringers that are structural members;

    Look through the framing stock at your local building supply and get a piece or two that have sufficient clear material to do the job. The wider (2x10) boards often have clear edges, and you'll wind up with a 2x4 or 2x6 from the center of the board as scrap, with little or no waste.
