hey greg, so whats up with the boat? what a great job on it. I am still looking what skiff to build and have looked at this one. I have been interested in the willapa 17 but nobody has seen one. now since I have seen this one it has me thinking about it even more. I will have to send for the plans. would like to see some more as to what you have done to the boat.
thanks for sharing this with us. I live in Olympia.

I'm really happy with how the boat turned out. It's very useful, can fish three people and crab 3-4 with 9 pots. I've had it up at the lake with 6 people on board for cruising and crawdadding and it worked well for that too. I've had it out on the ocean as well, and it did just fine with 2 or 3 people. It's pretty fast with a light load and the 40 hp outboard, it'll easily do 20 knots with only 2 folks. I caught a lot of bottom fish and crab this past summer and fall. I had a 4 hp Mercury 4-stroke long shaft clamped on to the starboard side for trolling, and it honestly went a little fast; I had to trail some drogues to slow things down. The plywood floor (unpainted) is still in place, as is the aluminum center console.

Here are a couple pictures of it at the Depoe Bay Wooden Boat Show last year:

Here's one of me running the boat up at Timothy Lake last summer:

A nice shot of it beached on the banks of the Salmon River during a crabbing excursion last June:

The fishbox plugged full of crab after a family crabbing trip on the Nehalem:

I love the Brcokway, but since I've built it I've purchased a Pacific City dory for long-range fishing excursions and beach-launching purposes. In order to refill the savings account after that purchase I've decided to put the Brockway up for sale. Not sure what the rules are for advertising, and I don't want to get in trouble for breaking them, but if anyone is interested they can send me a PM.
