    Default Krispy Kreme cheeseburger

    http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/ne...airs.-Tomorrow

Really, at state fairs, the same people that brought us deepfried candy bars and twinkies, are now serving cheese burgers with a bun made of a halved donut.

Then again I still take delight in the occasional corn dog with mustard. I will not cast stones.

    So who has had one?

It will probably show up at the Texas state fair where they fry everything!

Here is a sample of what I'm talking about:
Fernie’s All-American Fried Grilled Cheese Sandwich

An American classic with a State Fair twist. Two slices of white bread filled with a blend of American and cheddar cheeses, dipped in an egg and milk batter and lightly coated with panko bread crumbs for extra crispness. Served with a side of shoestring potato sticks, a pickle spear and tomato soup dipping sauce. The All American Meal!

    Chicken Fried Bacon

Winner of the Best Tasting category. Thick and peppery Farm Pac® bacon is seasoned, double-dipped in a special batter and breading and, then, deep-fried. Served with a creamy side of ranch or honey mustard sauce.
    Fried Banana Split

Winner of the Most Creative category. A mixture of banana and honey peanut butter is rolled in balls, battered and deep-fried and topped with assorted, delicious fixings, including powdered sugar, caramel and chocolate syrups, chopped peanuts, whipped cream and banana split flavored ice cream bites then fittingly crowned with the traditional cherry.
    Texas Fried Jelly Bellys®

Jelly Bellys are rolled in funnel cake batter and fried to a crunch. People can share the treat with friends and try to guess the flavors of the Jelly Bellys before biting down.
    Deep Fried S’mores

Marshmallow cream and chocolate chips are sandwiched between two graham crackers, dipped in a feather-light batter and fried to a golden brown. The campfire-inspired treats are dusted in powdered sugar.
    Fire & Ice

A pineapple ring is battered and deep-fried, then topped with banana-flavored whipped cream that’s been frozen in liquid nitrogen. The smoking concoction is ladled with strawberries and syrup.
    Fried Chocolate Truffles

A silky-smooth, handmade, dark chocolate truffle is rolled in cocoa powder before being battered and deep-fried. The melting chocolate goodness is dusted in cinnamon, sugar and cocoa powder.
    Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Waffle Balls

Plump fresh strawberries covered in a thick chocolate shell are dipped in a sweet, waffle batter and deep-fried. Dusted with powdered sugar and served on a stick.

I've had all sorts of sandwiches, including hamburger, on old-fashioned fried cake donuts, but I wouldn't eat a KK donut on a bet.

I admit, I love kk donuts. I guess that's the first step to recovery.

more random news, bears, a pig and a racoon guarding pot farm in Canada. Now that is the place to put o n the tie dye and have a party.
unless the pig drinks. Drinking with pigs is a pain until they get drunk enough to pass out. Never partied with bears before...

They talked up KK here as there is none unless one goes to Portland {big City folks there}.

The girl scouts set up a stand and sold them.

I tried them, Too sweet, I thought they were terrible.

Maybe in my yute when i drank soda i would have liked them.

    My kids love them.

Its VERY hard to make a proper Krispy Kreme doughnut hamburger as you first have to age the doughnuts for a few days to a week to get them to reach the right consistency. After proper aging the glaze becomes quite hard and even seems to ferment a little, while the donut itself remains somewhat soft. Too long and of course the bread itself becomes hard also, which is an excellent state for coffee dipping, kind of a Dixie biscotti, but not for a hamburger bun.

You pretty much have to hide the box in the back of the pantry to have any chance of them reaching burger bun stage. If you want them to reach the Dixie biscotti stage I'd suggest a locked safe of which no one, including yourself, knows the combination.

    THEY NEVER GO MOLDY!!!

I've honestly eaten a two month old Krispy Kreme doughnut before, stored in an un-airconditioned space. Serious. Two doughnuts actually, I'd hidden the box in the back of the closet with the intent of using them for hamburgers that weekend then got sidetracked by other things. At some point it became kind of an experiment. I'm thinking that the amount of sugar on the outside and the relative lack of water after frying prevents pretty much anything from being able to grow in there.

Paula said there was no harm nor foul in eating a cheeseburger sandwiched between two KK donuts....as long as you observed one simple rule....

...there is a limit and it is one per lifetime.

Mixed with Sprite and a twist of lemon, not much finer. Just wish I could remember more of those times.

Nahh... SoCo is a peach liquor.. I'm thinking you'd wind up closer to a rum flavor.

I have. Black bears are good 'party animals', as long as they're well-fed and mildly drunk (DAMHIKT! - YMMV! - Don't Try This At Home!). I sure wouldn't trust Grizzly bears or Polar bears, though!
