Boy if I knew then, nearly a month ago ,what I know now.
Singapore Airlines cancelled her flight from Paris a couple of hours before it was due to go. Doesn't seem very timely or professional to me. Cost her a small fortune to get back into the UK.
But the kicker is this. They won't refund her money, just leave it as a credit which they know she'll never be able to use. That's corporate theft in my view.

1000 quid a ticket x a half empty flight? Cancel it and keep the money..... They just improved their cash flow by a quarter million British pounds.
    Not impressed.
However we just got our youngest back in the country this morning via Air NZ partnered with Cathay after a 12 hr plus 10 hour layover plus another 12 hour flight, then put on a flight to another city a thousand miles away for quarantine.
2 weeks and we can see her.
    But that's good.100-0041_IMG_10.jpg

    “It’s risky”, said experience.
    “It’s pointless”, said reason.
“Give it a try”, whispered the heart.

There has been a lot of this recently in the British press. Your daughter is entitled to an immediate refund under EU law https://ec.europa.eu/transport/theme...nger-rights_en

For more information see this article from Forbes https://www.forbes.com/sites/advisor...celled-flight/

As the flight was due to start from Paris she will need to contact the French authorities, details given in this https://ec.europa.eu/transport/sites...ent_bodies.pdf

In short, start kicking up a hell of a stink.

Thankyou Nick, good to know it's just not me and my own outrage.
I appreciate the links , we'll have a read and formulate a plan.

She arrived in Auckland and was sent on another hour or so to Christchurch in the south Island, good news... They've put her in a beautiful room in a newish hotel.
Probably won't want to come home to cabin life, cough.
