    Default Stilletto Catamaran

Does anyone have any experience w these?
Yes, I know it isn't wood.
My BIL just bought one (sans rig).
He knows about boats what I know about sub-atomic particles, that they exist.
    He's in NH.
    Thanks in advance.

What Paladin says, fast and fun. You can still get parts for them from a fellow who bought the company years ago. He's in Nokia FL. Google Stiletto cat and he will show up. Hopefully he didn't pay much for it because with no rig or sails it can quickly cost more than it's worth. I might be interested in the hulls if he decides that this wasn't a great idea. David

This one goes way back for me. I remember one at Cutty Sark Marina in Norfolk, VA back in the late 70's. We wondered what the operator would do in the event of a capsize - and we found out - they wrecked the mast and rigging after one. Boat disappeared a while later - end of story. This one had a flush(er) deck on each hull with a formed lexan fighter jet style canopy. I remember these as daggerboard boats - I think I will go check out the web site.

My family is originally from Crisfield, MD - lots of real thin mud bottom water around. I considered buying the wrecked hull and designing a dual PWC powerplant, no sail rig, and a large bimini top - never got anywhere, but it would have been a light, fast, thin water boat.

    Regards.

There's one on a buoy in Lake Washington. I sail and row by it often. Never seen it sailing, but it looks fast and fun. Named Duet or something like that

Contact the Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Sarasota, Fla. Lots of Stillettos racing there. You can find photos on the SSS website in back issues of their monthly newsletter - The Burgee.
